Hey guys,

My second Lifemiles TG F redemption:
SYD - BKK - KIX in TG F with a 7 hour afternoon layover in BKK (hopefully won't get too bored, maybe not being enough time to get out of the airport, at least it's a good lounge and can enjoy the massage)
NRT - BKK to SYD in TG F with a overnight 21 and a half stopover in BKK

Used screenshot of course.

Tried to push my luck (and try a different product) having seen a mixed cabin availability NRT - BKK vis SIN (ANA F and SG Y) however, they wouldn't put it through linked to a BKK - SYD leg. Unless anyone has had better luck, it looks like mixed cabins may not be compatible with screenshots when a direct route is obviously visible?

The sister in law just made her first LM redemption:

YYZ - YVR - BNE - 80K + $85 taxes

Route was available in LM but errored when they tried to proceed. Sent an email to LM and was sorted out in about 24 hours

Had to get the brother in law over to Melbourne and was able to book the following using the screen shot method:

YYZ-BRU-BKK-MEL Flying on SN & TG all J. 80K +$100 USD taxes

Took a couple of days to get the call back due to it being Christmas and all but everything was sorted out.

Closing off the trip for the family in the above 2 posts - Managed to book the following for 2 pax via screen shot method:

MEL -> BKK -> FRA -> YYZ - 2pax - TG & AC J - 160K + 200USD in taxes.

ICN -Sin - BNE on OZ, SQ. 3 pax, in J. Total 120k LM + $215 USD.

Great value for 40k per person.

Nice route Lisa10 - Was this bookable on screen or did you need to do the screenshot method?

Screenshot was required. Emails went back and forth as I tried to get a mixed class booking via hkg to sin (saw this on EF). They wouldn't allow it as only mixed class bookings that show up on their LM search engine are permitted.

We had to change dates to get the direct flight for 3 in business from ICN to Sin.

Yes I did.

I'm mindful this is the successful bookings thread, so perhaps any other questions should be in the other LM thread.

Requested via screen shot: Lisbon-Bangkok-Sydney with TAP Portugal and Thai, Business Class

Received: Lisbon-Bangkok-Singapore-Sydney with TAP Portugal, Thai, Singapore, Singapore, Business Class.
Aircraft: A321/777/A380/A380

Now the bad news: The flight is not for me, I booked it for a girl I've been friends with since school.
Lucky I talked her out of Y into J. She will be one happy lady!

Minimum points 34,000 + USD 892.05 fee and taxes.

Requested via screenshot : KUL-NRT-ICN-SYD, Business class

Received : KUL-SIN-SYD

Payment : 25k points + $335.90

Called about 4 days later coz the seats no longer available for the date i initially requested, and they offered a day earlier with SQ, but when they called, i requested for another day, and luckily SQ seats available as well..to be frank i prefer SQ, but i cant find any screenshot, so i provided with another airline for them to call me :-)

So with virtually no F available out of LAX next January and SQ waitlisting every day I decided to try ANA F.Obviously most don't want to fly out of !AH.
2X F awards-IAH-NRT-SIN for a total of 198000 points + $US88.46.

Got the points on the 2 for 1 sale so quite happy.

I've giving AN F a go in May on the way to LHR.

Looking forward to it as the few reviews I've read makes it sound up their with SQ

You must mean NH F :)

AN went the way of the dodo quite some time ago.

From the reviews, I hear that NH F has very good food. Last I heard, they have PJs, but you have to hand them back at the end of the flight; who knows, that might have changed.

No, you don't have to hand them back. I got about 4 pairs now. It's the jacket of PJ you need to hand back.

A review from late last year the fellow was asked to give them back and then got a new set in their plastic.

SYD to HKG in TG F for 23/12 - got to love being able to get an F seat so close to Xmas.

Also - a data point re cancellation of tickets:

Flight one: Was due to depart Bne at 2pm, arrive BKK at 8pm, spend o/n a the airport hotel and then get 9am flight to KL all on Thai. Schedule change meant flight left Brisbane at 23.30 but I still could have make connecting flight. Rang and said I didn't like overnight flights, they changed it to BNE - SIN on SQ and SIN-KUL to SQ no hassle or charge.

Flight two: Schedule change on Thai meant o/n transit at BKK airport which has a very expensive airport hotel. Original itinerary was KUL-BKK-BNE. They happily changed this to KUL-SIN-BNE even though it still required an overnight transit in Singapore. - which is much cheaper at T3 transit hotel

SO the story is, if you get a schedule change - just ask for something different even it is not really defensible/needed, they don't seem to mind.

2 x pax, HND-BKKx-PER in mid October 17, TG J for both flights. 32K points and $1100AUD co-payment and taxes. Flying back from the F1.

Got the points 2 for 1 going from accounts A->B->A etc to hit 40%. Then a timed out booking, that the call centre told me to cancel and retry. So I did. And it timed out again. Then three calls on bad lines to the call centre to sort it out over the next few days to catch the billing dept.

LM can be a pain. But can't argue with $880AUD in J from Tokyo to Perth.

Flying over SIN-HND in SQ F with a First Class virgin and AirAsia Y regular. His mind is gonna explode.
