Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

What email/number do you use to contact these jokers? Surely they can flex the joinging date rules-they are obvioulsy keen to sell as many points as possible?

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

Looks like 30,000 is the sweet spot. Anything more, and you get charged for the standard + bonus miles.

can confirm this. A friend bought the max miles just a couple days ago and today went to purchase more. Anything above 30K is charging at full price (including charging for the bonus).

30K prices at $990.

unfortunately them's the rules.

Agents won't be able to override the system for an individual.

But don't worry, the next offer won't be too far away.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

i just jumped on lifemiles after reading about the dec 1 special, and am getting weird calc of cost when attempting to purchase 44,000 miles = $3267 whats that about?

And i to make it even more mind numbing... i was logged in on the weekend, checking how much of my annual allocation i had left to use for the year, and i thought i was sure website allowed me to purchase 50,000. Today max is 44,000?!

hmmm... love the value.... but it seems to be getting dodgier all the time...

The problem is the 125% bonus. At 44000 miles, you will get > 50000 miles bonus so your overall allocation will be >150k. What LM did is still give you the total of 44000 + 55000 bonus, a total of 99000 miles at 3.3 cents each. That's where the $3267 come from. Lower the miles you want to purchase and you will be fine.

30K prices at $990.

But my friend was able to purchase 66k miles with bonus to a total of 148.5k. That was an account that never bought mile before.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

No, I got the same issue with 20000 which seemed to be my max so I bought 15000 nad then 5000 and it was ok

As a reference 5000 = 165 USD is the correct price

Looks like 30,000 is the sweet spot. Anything more, and you get charged for the standard + bonus miles.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Looks like it's typical Lifemiles IT issue. I can't see the pattern. Some people get lucky, some people don't. It's a lottery.

I was only allowed 30k as well.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

Strange. Did you buy any already this year ? I bought 75k (plus 75k bonus) a few months ago.

I had topped up my account earlier this year to get awards on our upcoming trip. They allowed total for the year to go to 151000.
Mrsdrron got some in previous promotion.Get to the payment page but then doesn't accept any card.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Bought full 75k earlier in the year. Not entitled to any other promos so far until this one.

Showed full price at 44k but could purchase 30k at the discounted rate. My guess is anyone who has bought all 75k this year can only go to 30k for whatever reason.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

Never purchased any point and I can only get the bonus to show up at 40k -> 90k. Any higher the "BONO CYBERMONDAY 2014" doesn't appear although calculator clearly showing fine.

Just cant justify it for the next years travel unfortunately.
Me too! Already got 4 trips booked next year (Japan, Europe, Singapore and Brazil). Thought I should pass this one.

Edit. Just bought 20k more. I cant turn down a bargain ;) my intention was J one way F one way on a trip to Asia, so now its F both ways. Will be finding the donate/Paid membership for this forum when i get to work bc its been an absolute eye opener for me..sitting in cattle class thinking everyone in J or F was loaded..how wrong was i ;)
Me too! Feeling a bit regretted after I bought 30k as it was a bit impulsive. Glad to see that I'm not alone!

I know people say don't speculative buy miles and stock them. But if LM is gonna devalue they will devalue anyway, whether you buy it now or buy it later, you still need that extra miles after devaluation. Unless you decide not to use LM anymore. Otherwise the bit of extra miles always helps when you need to book something urgently.

Damn good bonus on the promo.

Shows i could buy up to 65k more miles on top of the 45k ive already bought this promo and get 81.5k bonus.

Just cant justify it for the next years travel unfortunately.

Was just describing my travels for next year at work and they were asking me how I could afford so much F and J flights.

Once I started describing buying miles I seemed to lose them on the value potential. But that's cool. More F flights for me I say. To think I've not yet flown in F, and next year I'll get something like 50 odd hours of F flying time thanxs in part to LM. It's been a long time since I was excited to fly

It amazes me I'll be able to visit Japan in F for < 2K return now - maybe around $1800. Has to be about the sweetest points to $ reward out there.

i haven't purchased any miles this year and the max it is allowing me to buy is 66000, with 82500 bonus - for a total of 148.5k miles (ie just under the 150K limit).

If I enter in 67000 it says 'max miles exceeded, you can continue to purchase miles but without any bonus'.

Otherwise, for those who have already purchased, it seems the max it will allow you to go up to is 217500 miles? (ie previous 150 and another 67500 here).

Most of my colleague were very skeptical and think I was scammed even though I showed them the photos of my trip. They simply can't grasp the idea of buying miles from a Columbian airline to redeem Singapore airlines. Most of them only believe in upgrades, and would prefer the idea of upgrade auction.

Do you mind telling me which airline and around what date? I go to Japan annually so this will be my plan, although next year I already booked F with JL using Asia miles.

Yes I had the same thing. 66000 is the most I could buy, and have not purchased any previously this year.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

did the "BONO...." line came up when you purchased the 66k points? Should I go through with the purchase anyway since the bonus point is clearly indicated in the calculator?

I had the same experience (maxed out for the year but was able to buy 30k + bonus for $990 today).

 Then out of curiosity I went back to see if I was able to replicate that.

Negative on the 30k but I was able to buy an additional 10k for $330 and still get the bonus (so 22.5k for $330).

There was, however, no third time lucky...

YMMV

I just did the same this morning. Couldn't resist getting some more points while the the $ is still relatively high.
