re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

I didn't end up going with the F flights after all. Going MXP-BKK-MEL in J on TG instead

How is the TG BKK-MEL route with the 772? I've heard that it is noticeably inferior to the 773 J to BNE but better than the 747 J to SYD.

While there is supposedly some difference between the angled J class seats on the 773, 772 and 747 - I can't spot it. They all seem the same. All uncomfortable unless you can sleep on your back. On an angle. Sliding down.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

I actually prefer the seat to be like a lounge Z position. At the moment it's 773 to MEL. Unfortunately the F flights were all overnight (and a 7 hr) layover in BKK, if I'm going to sleep anyway I might as well go J.

I've flown 77W and 772 in the past few months on this route. Sure the 77W is better but for a day flight.. 772 is ok. Outdated yes but hey I still managed 4.5hrs sleep on my leg a couple of weeks ago.

Correct. 77W J is much better, especially if traveling solo. The BNE route is inconsistent, can be 772 or 77W, you never know. 747 J is the worst.
Having said that I agree all the above are more then enough for day flight.

there is a difference between the 77W (BNE) and 773. The 773 has the standard angled recliners.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

The J cabin is the staggered configuration so fingers crossed it sticks as the 77W

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

i'd been in both... if youre over 6ft, theyre both terrible.

sadly the angled seats are favoured as you dont feel so claustrophobic

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Are TG known to consistently operate the 388 on the CDG route ?
Or is the only relatively certain 388 route FRA ?

A380 service to CDG is consistent AFAIK.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Hi all,
I had booked NZ288 from PVG to AKL on life miles. NZ have cancelled this flight and replaced it with NZ286, same day but an evening, rather than afternoon flight.

On check my trip, the original flight is showing unconfirmed and the new flight as confirmed. Do I need to do anything further with this, or by just turning up at the airport it will all have sorted itself out?

the ticket will need to be revalidated for the 286. would assume no change in ticket number. you can call air new zeland (probably easier than calling lifemiles) and ask them to make sure the ticket is good for travel.

Thanks, called NZ and all good to go. Looking forward to flying on the 787 in 3 days

Is LM still screwing up with TG & SQ into/out of Aus? I still can't see anything :(

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Yes and I phone again, agent refused to help and my email has gone unanswered. the individual flights are there, just not the connections.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

tried a dummy booking from TPE-BKK-MEL which doesnt show a through flight but only on separate searches - presume error still there.
pity it's just not the days i need either.
I haven't checked but maybe not so much a screw up anymore?

I can't even see them with SQ. I cannot see anything out of Aus to SIN on SQ. I also can't see anything (except one fluke) to BKK on TG.

I really hope it's not deliberate. Who is blocking whom...
