re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

On your phone, If you select the trip and select the passenger name it should show the ticket number. This is just a double check the ticket is issued

On your pc, Just select trip and passenger and it shows the ticket number.

AFAIK the "confirmed" thing is simply the seat has been held. An issued ticket is the key

Thanks.
If I click on the passenger names on computer I can see the "e-ticket number" so looks like we are all good :)

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

After booking and paying taxes etc should my booking read "confirmed" or "ticketed" on checkmytrip??
I paid on Friday and it still says "confirmed"
Flight is next week.

PS....Just noticed LM is down for maintenance

it's always a good idea to confirm the operating airline also has ticket numbers. you can often do this through the respective 'manage booking' function. Or else call the operating airline direct.

The LM website underwent maintenance recently. Hopefully that hasn't meant further 'enhancements'!

The LM website seems to be frequently down, whether that's for operational reason, fixing real bugs or fixing routing "bugs" hard to determine.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

FYI I am going to cancel a flight in the next hour, just incase anyone wants it, hopefully you will go back into the inventory

Is it possible to book infants on an LM award? When I look at the search engine there only seems to be the option to choose number of pax, but no option for children.
Would it be a case of emailing/calling to add an infant? Or is it flat out not possible.

You would usually book infant tickets direct with the airline you have booked, paying cash which is 1O% of advertised fare. Have done this with TG award tickets before.

Thanks. Will see how that goes. The wife is already against me buying Miles to use for premium tix. If I have to run her through the notion of paying again for bub she's just going to put the kybosh on the whole thing.

Why not keen? Is it a straight forward itinerary? If so it is usually really easy and the price is fine. I.e. MEL-BKK-MEL would be about $400 for the infant. If you have a complicated itinerary on many carriers it can be harder and more expensive to price out. So I would check the cost before you jump in.

Likely to be PER-SIN-PER,

or SIN-NRT/HND/KIX_SIN,

whatever works out based what will be best of my VA points, and what's cheaper in terms of purchasing LM if and when they have another bonus offer. Which I would hope would be in the near future. I don't have any warehoused.

And the reality is purchasing revenue Y tickets for at least one leg of the PER-NRT/HND/KIX-PER round trip is a distinct possibility. I'm just doing my research as thoroughly as I can.

Alaska and AA are also possibilities. Again no current points, but a well-timed bonus offer wouldn't go astray.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I just got refunds for 2 tickets. The process was pretty simple and quick and the points are already back into the account. The agent was fantastic and explained every step of the way. I used the how to guide from Flyer Talk "Cancellation of Lifemiles Ticket" and called the +1800 284 2622 number.
The only negative is that the seats have not returned to the inventory. :(

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

My cancellation record was less than 10 mins :D Refunds took from 5 days to 3 weeks.

Last time I cancelled a THAI flight, checkmytrip still showed as confirmed for the next 5 days (stopped checking after 5 days) so not sure if it went back to the inventory.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

With my previous redemptions ive always had an e-mail from Taca international ticketing office, only one of the current bookings ive made has received this email.

Is it Anything to worry about?

Payment went through, reservation number worked on Thai website and I was able to select a seat.

Booking was made a week ago.

Being able to select seats doesn't signify much, but if you can see the ticket number on the Thai website you're OK.

Cheers, it looks like its all good, has a document number in the e-ticket section which is similar but lower sequentially to the number of the later booking which I did get the email for.

If you are unsure you can ring TG direct, ask them to look at the booking, and confirm 'do you have a ticket number against this booking?'. (But it sounds like it is all ok!)

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

We are looking at flying business class from Europe to Sydney in April 2017. I have found flights but am unsure how to use the "Screenshot" method, or whether my selected flights are within the rules. Could anyone please help me with this?

Milan to Brussels with Brussels Airlines
Brussels to Tokyo with ANA
Tokyo to Sydney with ANA

Will this still be 85,000 points each? How do I get the screenshots? Where do I send them to? Is it best to contact Lifemiles by phone (USA number) or by email?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ross & Yvonne
