Not sure, however I normally end up noticing on the website before any email, only because I keep going to the website..........

I think sometimes I hope my points balance has mysteriously grown, so I regularly feel the need to keep checking

Oh dear. I was semi-hoping this would come before I booked a trip to Japan next year. And now that it has.... I am not sure I can do it.

LM telling me that ALL dates in March and April 2017 for Tokyo to Perth are sold out in all classes.

I think that means I am doing something wrong. But NRT/HND-BKK-PER should be pretty straight forward as far as availablity I am sure.

Still working my head across the LM landscape. Tips or suggestions?

Have you tried searching sector by sector? I.e PER-BKK and BKK-NRT?

It's a bug that won't bring it up as one itinerary

you need to search sector by sector and when found availability email Lifemiles support using the screenshot method described many times in this thread

I will see how that goes. Would that not mean I'd be using more miles to pay for the award? Or will screenshotting those flights and connections solve that issue?
Sorry for the questions, but this would be my first time using LM so want to make sure I don't urinate my limited dollars up against the proverbial.

Yup just do screenshots. piece it together and you'll pay the same amount of miles as if it was one booking.

But, expect issues/resistance with TG connections from japan (TYO), KIX, NGO, cough, to other award zones outside South Asia.

Yeah working through it slowly. Several hundred pages. It's one of those things. You can read all you like but you never really KNOW what you're doing until you do it.
