I found the first statement was a dummy statement that kicked off the account.

To quote their website:

"Qantas Points, including any bonus points on your Qantas Gold or Qantas Classic MasterCard, will only be transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account at the end of the 2 month period from account opening and once you have spent at least $1,500 on eligible purchases. "

So on this basis, if you have clocked up 3 statement periods including the first very short one, and have completed the spend requirements, you are due for the points. I will be at that point this week myself.

Yes, that's where I'm at - statement with no transactions issues at start of Nov 15 and two proper statements since then at the start of Dec 15 and Jan 16.

I'll sit tight for a few more weeks before following up again then. It just seemed weird that the points were sitting there on a direct sweep card (I reached the $2.5K min spend in early Dec 15).

I called last week and was told since my account opened in October I would need to wait until my statement in January and then the points would be moved across on the 22nd?.

I will call in Feb and complain if they haven't posted before then.
HSBC was the fastest, they posted in like 3 weeks.

I can see the 50,000 bonus points on my statement so I assume they will be credited at the end of the month.
happy days.

How there been any issues with points hitting QFF accounts with this card this month (not necessarily bonus pts just pts for regular spend at the end of each statement)? Wondering whether it's just the BW QF Debit Mastecard thats had the issue or BW as a whole?

IE Pts show up on the statement but yet to hit QFF account.

Not sure sorry, I stopped using it after I hit the min spend due to the low points earn. I will be canceling after I receive my bonus.

My BW credit card points have posted
My BW debit card points have not

The max amount of bonus points seems to be 8,000 or am I missing something

As an update, my 50k bonus points plus points from the first three statement periods all posted in early Feb, a little longer than three months after the account was opened without any further follow up from me.

Not that you would apply for the card with only 8k bonus points now, but they delivered what they promised within the stated time frame (4 months), so I can't complain.

Still waiting for my 50K pts. Based on BillytheFish, should be here in next week or so after the third full statement, and if not will chase them up.

My points posted on the 5th of Feb. I will most likely use this card for OS Transactions and because I refuse to deal with Citibank (Long Story) I may as well keep the card for this reason alone.

I wonder if the offer will increase again to 50000? Has anyone noticed if it goes up and down?

Got statement #3 today, and it shows the 50K pts waiting to be swept up next time, so all good.

Also interested in the frequency of the 50k points offer.

Is this a regular thing? Is it worth waiting for it to come up again?

Depends on the reason you're getting the card. Mine was not for the points.

Its worth keeping an eye out certainly, but there are other point offers about if that is you main aim. The offers are generally posted and discussed here: Current Credit Card Promotions

I took the card both for the points, and for no-transaction fees on foreign transactions, as we use it for booking flights and during travel overseas.

The original offer from Bankwest was at the beginning of March 2015. May be worth keeping a lookout for a new offering given 12 months is just about to pass.

Just a warning when using this card for OS travel, make sure to take a backup. I travelled to Brazil recently with the card and a transaction at a Marriott hotel triggered a fraud block on the card. Despite calling up and having it removed, for some reason it continued day after day to block Uber transactions which prior to the Marriott block were working fine. The bank somehow could not resolve the issue before I returned to Aus. I was surprised that they thought a transaction at such a large hotel chain, in a country that I had notified them that I was visiting, was considered fraud, particularly when it was a $500 charge, not a small suspicious amount which is what typically causes card blocks. Luckily I had another card with me to use and to register with Uber. The general Bankwest staff and the fraud team (who do not work 24/7) were completely incompetent so don't rely solely on this card..

My 50K bonus points posted in QFF today, so all good if a little slow.

Salem, I never rely on a single card having had a similar experience some years ago. I tend to use one card to hold hotel etc bookings, and a different card when I pay. That way if a Hotel pre-charges as some do, then I know the card won't have been compromised. Then there is another backup card, just in case!
