Thanks.

As per fine print

The 50,000 bonus Qantas Points promotion is only available for new customers who receive the promotional email from Bankwest and apply for a Bankwest Qantas Platinum MasterCard credit card via the application process outlined in the email

I tried calling BW but they must have a day off (even though it says 7 days a week). I'll try again tomorrow (or Tuesday) and see how strict they are about this. I've got some overseas trips coming up in the next few months and wouldn't mind extra 50k points (plus whatever I end up spending)

What was the "application process outlined in the email"? - is it just following the link? I am with bw but didn't get the email. I would be interested in trying out the link anyway, but won't be able to until later in the week. Anyone been successful yet? I'm interested to know how the call turns out kko...

I called BW today. The Rep I spoke to was super confused about this, and tried convincing me that this is an expired offer (from a year ago) even though I told him the date clearly states 2016. Then he reiterated that the best I can get is the publicly available 8k points, at which point I politely thanked him for his time and ended the discussion.

Thanks for the update kko. Poor rep, super confused... I can just picture the conversation. I'll give the link a try when I get home and see what comes of it.

Conditions say From Sept, till June 2016!

Applied. Approved for a $6000 credit limit. Last time I applied (March 2015) I was given a $10,000 limit.

Had to email 2 most recent payslips.

Provisionally approved for 8k which is ridiculously low and insufficient for what i want to use it for :( Oh well....

I don't mind the limit provided for me. But it was odd.

My income has increased since I applied last year. Additionally I had cards with a total of $45000 limit on them when I applied last year. This time around I've cancelled most of my cards and have just a $6000 limit on one card at present. So odd to provide me with a reduced limit when I am in a better financial position 16 months later. But I don't really care, card will be cancelled as soon as the points land.

My approved limits have been dropping over the last year. I put it down to my decreasing credit score as I keep applying and cancelling cards. Could be this or tighter lending standards.

PS. The same seems to be happening with wife's applications.

Got this today:

Very odd behaviour from Bankwest. Was never questioned in previous applications. They may not be happy with the churns that I've been doing with them.

EDIT 1: 5 minutes later I get this as an auto reply:

"I am out of the office from Thu 08/04/2016 02:30PM until Mon 08/08/201609:30AM."

Just hopeless! Why contact me if you were never going to be able to respond to my reply until 4 days later?????

EDIT 2: Had the phone call. They just wanted to confirm details in my application (they claimed that my stated mortgage repayments was too low - rubbish!) and ask if I wanted my card express posted to me.

Complete waste of my time.

I got the same email as you but from a different person. She actually rang me to confirm some details about my application. I took the opportunity to whinge about the coughpy credit limit the computer gave me, and she asked me what I wanted....I mumbled 15K, and she entered that into her computer, and told me it was approved ....should have asked for more ;)

Applied tonight.

Got the following response:

"[h=2]thank you for your online application[/h]Regrettably, your application has been unsuccessful in this instance.
We will confirm this decision in writing."

:(
