Not a bad deal in my opinion. But that is assuming the deal is honoured. We shall wait and see.

This fare is still bookable through google flights. Very cheap from any Australian city, just booked another flight because I used my wife's maiden name in the original booking.

Well kinda..... The thing is that VA charged my credit card meaning that Orbitz masked off the credit card details in the PNR for VA to charge, they don't touch the money. This also means it has to be available in their GDS even if that is a private error fare for Orbitz (I couldn't quote it myself via the GDS)

Can confirm this happened here too. I just booked one for my daughter and the Amex Charge card notification came through for VA, not Orbitz.

E-ticket received. We'll see what happens

No leave and I had a spare weekend in Brisbane in May.

Define decent sleep? I can sleep on an aircraft at the drop of a hat. Think I should be able to get ~7 hours sleep each way. Returning back on Monday morning will be tough but I will drag myself off to work for a few hours and take it from there. Worse case scenario is book a day rate at a hotel nearby LAX and I will be able to sleep no problem for a few hours.

The only concern is no IFE on Virgin?

what makes you think there is no IFE? There's a screen for every seat!

The booking I made already has seats assigned on the VA website.

I would not call VA about this in a million years. I'm pretty sure they'll get in contact with us if/when they need to
