After trying to find the answer in this thread I'm still confused, do the SC from this promotion count towards the SC rollover (provided didn't hit the cap)?

Was just about to ask the same question. Even though I was disappointed that they don't count towards your lifetime status, I suppose there might be some value if they roll over into the next membership year, as that's 15 less SCs required to retain your current tier the year after.

I should also acknowledge that while this particular offer seems a bit sparse, the initial wave of one-off status credit boosts and monthly status credit support grants (which came to 600-900 SCs for WPs and which, IIRC, did count towards lifetime status) were very generous, especially since it meant many people might have gotten quite a bit closer to their next lifetime tier without travelling (or spending money) at all. It might have been that realisation that prompted Qantas to make some subsequent SC offers ineligible for lifetime status.

I chose 15 status credit - do they count towards fast track to gold status 100??? any idea

Feeling technically challenged here ... We were vaccinated in London, got our GP add our vax records in our Medicare records. Got the certificate - as shown in the sample - in pdf and saved it. Opened up the QF app on iPhone, went through all the steps, included the pdf upload, but kept getting error message the file not recognised or something went wrong, try again! Arrrgh ... Have tried multiple times but to no avail. Give up?

Given that vaccination will be a requirement to fly Qantas at some stage ( as well as the best general health thing right now) and Qantas will want as many people to fly them as possible, it seems a good commercial strategy as well as marketing.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If QF goes it alone, will they actually turn away business and profits by insisting pax need to be vaccinated?

Just wait. Same thing happened with me, always received the error message but still received the credits anyway. Twitter also reporting it as a frequent issue and Qantas are aware.

In this interview posted by PomDownUnder, Joyce is pretty clear that other countries will require vaccination and Qantas will be checking so likely not their issue.

I seem to recall reading that AC has it mandatory for travellers to be vaccinated.

Yes they do, domestically too I think.

I think the Gov should mandate this domestically (staff and all passengers) as VA and Rexy seem to be dragging their feet to get their staff vaccinated, let alone their passengers!

Don't believe so.

"Status Credits: 15 Status Credits will be credited to your account within three days of your completed application for a reward. Status Credits will not contribute towards any Platinum or Platinum One Bonus Rewards, Loyalty Bonuses, Lifetime status and any Qantas Status Accelerator. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions."

Totally irrevant to this discussion on exchanging your digital vaccination certificate for some SCs, points or a voucher from Qantas. YMMV
Maybe irrelevant to picking the gift.
Not irrelevant to the reason this promo was created... this thread is about the promo, not just picking the gifts.
Of course no one would be picking a gift if the promo wasn't created.
Given Joyce seems to have said the promo is needed because of failure of government, I disagree with the original premise that Joyce and the PM cooked the promo up together.

How do those equate?

In any case you're exaggerating my statement. My original statement was that this is a low offer for what they're asking you to provide, and I gave comparisons of offers you get with no requirement asked of you. Nothing to do with blanket opposition.
You have to give away your personal health information to sit in an exit row. Confirming good health is still personal health information.

I don't agree that's it an exaggeration to say you object to being asked for personal health information.

I suspect it is a business trade off they considered:

1. Losing the business of those who refuse to be vaccinated; or
2. Losing the business of those who refuse to fly an airline which doesn't mandate pax vaccination.

I suspect the dollars (and sense) thankfully landed on losing the former and not the latter.

And internationally vaccination will be a requirement anyway for non citizens of the arrival country.

My personal view is the politics of the situation that may or may not be behind the promo should be left out of this thread. It's about the promo full stop. Not about the situation we're in overall or who should be blamed. Just going to muddy the waters and go off thread (like my opinion is, to be clear) discussing issues quite separate to the actual promo. Just my 38 cents worth.

You may be right, but I recall when they did the recent BP promotion for 50 status credits, they had similar language in their T&Cs, but made an exception for Fast Track - doesn't probably make sense that they'd make this exception again, but hope they do.

If you don't see the difference between a document, and making a declaration... then obviously you don't agree with Qantas.

Otherwise they would just accept a similar personal declaration about being vaccinated instead of demanding you upload the .pdf (and "not a screenshot").

Geez I thought this was a brilliant offer!

I took the $20 because I already have 1,000,000 points I can't use :D

I could go and get the study which shows that actually small incentives can work just as well as big ones (yeah, despite what you think sometimes just the narrative is what's important), but clearly you are in the camp of damning Qantas whatever so I won't bother.
Easy there turbo...
I don't know how you leap to me 'damning Qantas no matter what' for simply questioning the logic and value behind this, especially given I've never said anything to justify that view. There is nothing free in this world, and one should always be asking what the true cost is, that's hardly unreasonable or Qantas-bashing.

As for incentives, correct, small incentives do work for many people due to the psychological factors that can be summed up by 'bird in the hand being worth two in the bush' however that typically refers to smaller incentives, not micro rewards. This is effectively he same as the chuppa-chup I got at the vaccination clinic; appreciated and nice, but it isn't going to make someone think "Gee I know I'm really worried about the illuminati-lizard-people injecting the 5G into me and making my blood magnetic, but hey, a thousand points is a thousand points!"
