There's not much bother involved for me. See green sign, price is about the same, fill up swipe card.

My biggest hassle is making sure I don't accidentally redeem $10 off and waste my points. What a stupid idea to make it so easy to do by accident.

Just disable that auto redemption in your Velocity account.

I had no idea that was possible until I read your post! Very annoying to date, wish I'd known it was possible sooner.

It took me a while to find the setting... for those looking for the setting, after logging in to your velocity account, go to "Pay With Points In-Store" then look for Deactivate button at the bottom of the page.

Some of us don't churn credit cards multiple times a year.

Plus the 200, 300 and 400 bonus point offers are usually easy to achieve.

And the average punter would use around 80L a week on petrol, so 160 points a week 8,000 points a year...meh....hardly worth the effort for me. If your local is BP though and the price is the same then good o

What on earth do folks purchase in-store that makes this even remotely interesting?

For me, Diet Vanilla Coke, but not all BP's stock it. OK if it's two for $6, but I've really got to be hanging out for one if it isn't.

I don't use that much petrol. I have 3 bonus offers this month on dads account, wifes account and my account. I should have signed up brother and mum.

All points add up for very little extra effort.

I sold my car years ago to exclusively use Uber as my private driver. I still get BP offers. I know why I receive them and maybe this is part of the reason BP wants to kill it off (data related).

I cant believe you guys can be bothered for such a insignificant amount of points...
Some of us on here do not live the Platinum/Gold credit card life, or have a true credit card.
Me included.
I have the QCC and the VGW, as well as the various visa and mastercard debit variety of cards, with Flybuys of course.
Thank (insert who ever you believe here, or for atheist (insert nowt)) for FB!
I did get quite a very few great VFF points from the VA/VFF and BP (OTR in SA) tie up.
Great while it lasted.
But now that FB can be transferred to VFF with SC earn, maybe the end of the VA/VFF tie up with BP is a "good thing". Going back to Coles Express/Shell.
Wonder though if OTR in SA will continue with VGW, seeing they don't operate under BP, OTR is owned by Peregrine Corp in SA.

BP, Shell and Caltex/Woolies compete to be the most expensive around my way (near the end/start of the F3 (M1) in northern Sydney). It's the last (or first) chance to get fuel before the freeway and they charge what they can get away with. A quick trip to Epping will save up to 20c some days. 7-11 is always cheaper.

So it's going to be all over. Another nail in my VA coffin. I won't buy from Shell so it doesn't matter what they offer I'm out. Don't have FlyBuys either.

I have asked at one outlet, though its an OTR (BP's rep in South Aust), called OTR (On The Run) will be stopping the earning of bonus points with VFF card.
Not sure if they might still accept the card as payment and you and I get the base 0.5 points per $1 earnt.

Neither I or mrsdrron have ever received a bonus offer from VA.But then we might be on a list.;)

The BP earn isn't that great for points anyway so no big loss... not sure if it's been covered already but I usually get an 8 x FlyBuys points per litre offer with my Coles shopping docket, which I can then convert to roughly 3 Velocity Points per litre which is better than what you get with BP. (Not counting any points earned from paying with a FF linked card).

I had started filling up at BP as a result of the partnership with Velocity. There are a couple located close to my business that are generally well priced, so it wasn't any effort to collect a few extra points. Disappointed that this is coming to an end, though it's an easy fix with a switch back to Shell with FlyBuys points -> Velocity points.

Bye BP!

I'm likewise - several BPs around my area, all very convenient so I naturally use them because prices are much of a muchness between the big petrol brand where I live.

'I note that over here the 'independents' of which there are now _many_ seem to be largely ignoring the so called 'price cycle' style of product placement that is favoured over here by the majors - for the most part, the price at the independents is the price, on any given day ... usually cheaper than the majors but not always, dependent upon where the majors are in their weekly price cycle.'

And if your'e an RAC member, independents Gull, Peak and Puma will give you 4c per litre discount on your membership card. That said, not sure what CCs they honour from a points perspective.

On the Velocity page at the moment:
"BIG THINGS ARE COMING FROM BP!Check back on 8 June to find out more."

Well it's 8th June and nothing showing yet... maybe later in the day. Curious what it will be if they are intending to wind up the arrangement?
