I won't be attending so please take me off the Maybe list.

Hope everyone has fun....

How did I miss this thread :o

I've got dinner in BrisVegas tomorrow night, but can't see a big issue in making the trek on the Bombay Express Wed as well.

See you in the front carriage (or on the roof if full). I'll be getting on at Nerang.

Hi

Hopefully will be able to attend - put me as a maybe - providing your willing to have a newbie along :p

I'm flying out on a 7pm - but hopefully should make it close to the start.

I'm just short of Gold at the moment - but a paid up lounge member.

New faces are always welcome at any AFF event!

One small issue with the front carriage of the Airtrain is that it will be designated as a "quiet carriage". Queensland Rail Quiet Carriage (Presumably up to Eagle Junction where it stops being a QR service and becomes the private Airtrain ... but who knows what the story is).

Anyways, perhaps we can all text each other and send PMs or something like that :D

Looks like Wednesday is set to be a good night. According to the Virgin website, the lounge closes when the last flight is called for the night, which would be about 8:45. So that gives us nearly 3 hours in the lounge which should suffice, hopefully.

Last train back is 8pm. Coachtrans runs later, but you should technically book that in advance (They can get pretty busy). They run about every 40 mins until nearly midnight.

Although, if 3 or more of us grabbed a taxi/maxi-taxi (walk up fare at the rank) to say Central Station or somewhere else convenient, then it would be around the same price or cheaper anyway.

Just so you know for numbers for the Lounge Manager, I'm a possible at this stage. Depends how my day pans out.

Current count 10-13 depending on the "maybes". Should be a good night.

A question for Airtrain regulars: is it really $57.40 return from Nerang to the airport (less 10% for online bookings) or am I looking at the wrong page?

As it's only $12.90 from Nerang to Central, I had in mind it would be about $15 each way!

Compared to taking the car at $25 for gas, $8 for tolls and say $22 parking, Airtrain's not a huge money saver.

I don't think they were my exact words... I think I said I might already have plans... Which I won't know until tomorrow . :p

Yeah - That is correct. Airtrain is quite expensive compared to other cities. It is often cheaper to catch the train to the nearest station to the airport and catch a cab from there!
