It seems like that the upholstery has been cleaned/redone. Not sure as I didn't really pay attention to the colour of the upholstery before; I only noticed that dirty blotches were not uncommon prior to the maintenance.

I do, however, notice that the Billi water filter in the MEL J lounge still requires some WD40 in the turning mechanism.

HA - I noticed this recently as well

Oh no! I finally visited the BNE J lounge today and Bulmers apple cider is, indeed, gone. They now have Pipsqueak instead, which is not as good.

On the plus side, however, they had an absolutely delicious Ceasar salad today. Yum!

mrpooky.

Totally disagree, IMHO Pipsqueak is miles ahead of Bogan Bulmers ;)

Each to their own though!

Just out of intyerest does any one know if the showers in Sydney J lounge were deep cleaned during the closure in line with a previous posting?

http://www.australianfrequentflyer....gram/sydney-j-lounge-showers-mould-54503.html

I commented earlier a few pages back that I noticed some work going on in the showers still last Monday. I noticed a generally higher brightness in the rooms, but didn't take a proper look at all. I suspect they may have repainted. I may get a chance to have a look tomorrow when I arrive.

Also in BNE QP, had it last week when J was still closed.

Not anymore.

Hahn Super dry and Extra Dry in business lounge and Hahn Super Dry only in Qantas lounge.

Pure Blonde still in both SYD lounges.

That's all the beers on offer now?!
Not even Heineken left?
No. Actually I am not sure about Heineken but there are other beers on offer. Bluetongue, xx_X Gold, light beer etc.

I am more interested in the low carb beer and that is not Hahn Super Dry including in the air.

Interesting how BNE has got different beers on offer to SYD.

Yes, I was just refused a glass of wine. I know it's early, but I'm child free for the day and would love to have relaxed and enjoyed being a solo adult for a few hours

if you were in Sydney you could have used the Epicure dispensor and had a glass for a few points :D

In BNE J lounge now. The beers are James Squire 50 Lashes, Boags premium, Stella, Hahn Extra dry and super dry, boags light and xx_X Gold. Ciders are pipsqueak apple and pipsqueak pear. Lounge ladies (completely undragonish :) ) fascinated at the pipsqueak debate.

They all have a variation on beers, I recently noticed that HBA stopped stocking James Squire Golden Ale. :(

In HBA now, Heineken, Boags and Cascade Premium, Pure Blonde and Hahn Premium Light.

Fairly average selection....

I have only seen Crown Lager in the SYD J lounge. Is it being 'enhanced' out?

Oh god, I hope so... I can't believe CUB has been getting away with putting VB in a funny-shaped bottle with a gold sticker and charging the premium for so long! :D

Actually I thought it was fairly consistent in most domestic Qantas business lounges and Qantas clubs.

Pure Blonde is by far the best low carb beer in Australia.
