In Sydney J lounge yesterday. The spruce up must have missed the water damage to the ceilings along the eastern side windows. Me thinks that the cost cutting theory is correct.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I can assure you that planned maintenance did indeed take place during this time.

As it's mostly business travellers that use these lounges, traditionally this quiet time is ideal to action refurbishments where possible.

We fully appreciate the inconvenience caused, however are keen to continue offering our customers the best premium product in Australia.

Please feel free to have a chat with the Lounge Manager when you next visit. They'd be happy to point out some of the changes made over the break.

The good cheeses and quince paste can be obtained if you ask the right person...took us a few attempts.

Nothing special about business lounges compared to qantas club actually there's no difference
Welcome to AFF. :D

I respectfully do disagree with your comment. One of the reasons is posted as an example up thread.

Also, the bar opening times differ with that of the Business lounge being earlier - as well there is a greater range of drinks available.

While I disagree with your statement, I do hope that many QFFs will agree with you. We can use some empty seats at the business lounges.

The great thing about J/F fare (or WP) is if you don't like the Lounge you are in, you can always (in most cases) go to another one - Choice is a beautiful thing!

Oh no! I finally visited the BNE J lounge today and Bulmers apple cider is, indeed, gone. They now have Pipsqueak instead, which is not as good.

On the plus side, however, they had an absolutely delicious Ceasar salad today. Yum!

mrpooky.

Mrs_O and I each received 2 J lounge passes in the post today, as compensation for not being able to access during the closure. We also both got telephone calls apologising and explaining the situation. I guess giving feedback sometimes has an effect.

I didn't know this, I guess it's because I am always passing through early morning or mid afternoon / evening so have not been there to see but out of curiosity - what time does it open?

It seems like that the upholstery has been cleaned/redone. Not sure as I didn't really pay attention to the colour of the upholstery before; I only noticed that dirty blotches were not uncommon prior to the maintenance.

I do, however, notice that the Billi water filter in the MEL J lounge still requires some WD40 in the turning mechanism.

I think I've seen a sign stating 11 am
