Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

BNE-SYD-Osaka is now $300, its gone up from $200 last month, and 3 cheers to the smart person that moved security screening at BNE INT to a position before customs!

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Bad news for me... no FF were granted for my return *class flight, as they were ODU... :( Shame... guess luck just wasn't with me!

Have you asked?

After waiting a week or two for my ODU SYD/KUL not to appear, I gave QFF a call and they said to scan the boarding pass and receipt from Jetstar and mail it to them. One week later .... 120 Status Credits!

The address is Frequent_Flyer"at"qantas.com.au

Good luck,

If you read the thread, I believe futago flyer did.

I have this horrible feeling the terms ODU or "Upgrade" may have been mentioned in line with the claim.

I was a new member when I made the booking for my flights so didn't enter my number. Then I did a ODU - When I got back to Oz I put a request in for missing points - I faxed qantas my boarding passes and flight info (didn't mention the ODU).

But alas they have shown up on my activity statement as 0 points 0 status credits.

I have a feeling its luck of the draw who processes your claim if you get the points/SC or not.

Was worth a try :-(

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Any recent reports on the cost of MEL-BKK (or return) ODU's. I'm travelling this route in October and currently tossing up between going for the ODU or paying $60 each way for an exit row seat.

Being very tall, the leg room is my priority. Not to fussed about the meals and I don't fly enough to be concerned about SC's. The lounge access would be a bonus.

At $60 v $300 each way I'm leaning toward the exit row.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Mrs SFSC and I flew SYD-KUL in *class yesterday. Price has gone up to $350 each. Don't know if this is a general increase or we paid more because we used the words "a change to *class" when requesting rather than using the U word.

One thing: nothing was said about not getting QF points or SC and the check-in person noted that our FF numbers were recorded so hopeful points/SC will show up.

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

SO had a normal jetstar boarding pass with 1B and 'STAR' writen on it by hand when she paid for her KIX-CNS upgrade last week. Points and SC received.

What was the cost of that one last week, Evan ?

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Shame about the ODU price rises...I guess the Jetstar people have been reading too many forums online and adjusting accordingly :(

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

For those of you that have succeeded in getting a paid ODU, did you just ask at the normal check-in desk or did you go to the info/ticketing desk prior to lining up.

Have a SYD-HNL flight this week which is a jetsaver fare, however only 9 of the 38 *class seats are booked (according to the seat map today).

Am travelling with the minister of war and finance (partner) who is more than happy sitting in the back of the aircraft, I wonder if this will hamper my attempt...

Thanks in advance

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Hi there

As posted earlier we did this flight in May ..I stood at the desk while my husband was first in the Q for check in, he was called up first to check the bags in and called me over and we paid for the upgrade from there $300 each. Just make sure you are among the first to be there. We caught an earlier from Melbourne raced to the check in area and had to wait 2 hours or so before the desks opened . We were lucky with this flight and the return and also had no problems getting the points once we got back, just make sure you keep boarding passes and the receipts for payment. I scanned and sent them off to Qantas when we got back.. Good Luck

Re: ODU - Jetstar Starclass

Noreen,

How did you pay for this :?: Did they have a CC terminal at check in or did you need cash :?:

I've paid with CC in the past for ODU's. They have an EFTPOS terminal at most checkin counters.

By credit card, once the bags were checked in she asked us to move the next counter up ( service desk - where I had originally been standing )

For our recent flight, I went to the service desk and was advised to go to the *class check-in (which was about to open in a few minutes), get checked in and return to service desk for payment. Service desk person also said that load was light so request would be OK.

Load was indeed light in *class on the flight we took and IMHO one of the extra good things was that in row 3 we had empty seats both in front of us, behind us and to the side (handy to store that little video/audio player thing). Had a look down the back during the flight - what a difference!
