Changes to QF lounges in Singapore

i just walked down to the CX lounge instead when i transited SIN on QF recently. showers available no queues. very peaceful
Is the CX SIN lounge the Skyview lounge? ISTR there are only two shower rooms?

I'm in the First lounge now in Singapore and it's 6.30pm - it's certainly not packed but relatively busy.might go and ask what the delay is on a shower...
Lol as its a while since I read the initial post and I walked in and thought to myself - this is just like the old standard lounge - which of course it actually is!
Remind me again what's First Class about this temp arrangement? - it hopefully isn't the food or champagne quality!

To be fair the old F Lounge was a way off the standard of SYD and MEL...hence the upgrade work. I was in the temp F/J lounge last Sunday and it was OK. It will do for now, but I'm looking forward to the new F lounge.

Pray you don't get to see the inside of the BNE Flounge:shock:

I was spoilt on the trip up with a (complimentary from my Qantas rep) visit to the Sydney First Class lounge so my expectations have now been reset to a much higher level
Fortunately this flight (and the blessing of double SC's) takes me up to Platinum so I'll be enjoying the pleasure of the Sydney First lounge more often

I must, I must... do a required review on that one.. I envisage it would/should be quite palatial considering the clientele it would be servicing.. Correct?

Oi, this BNE-based WP resembles that remark!!

There are some trips, like on Mother's Day, when I'd rather spend a wee bit more time at home in the morning than race out to the airport for an early dom flight down to SYD just to have an hour or two in the swanky SYD Flounge. There are other times, like my next trip the US, where I'm trying to maximise my Sydney Flounge time.

SIN lounge new first and business?

Does anyone know when the new SIN F lounge will be open, all I can find is "by the end of the year". Does this mean that the J lounge will also be refurbished:?:
I also assume that when the new F opens the access for J class pax will be removed:confused:, any comments would be appreciated

I wonder what happens to the lounge upgrade now that Singapore won't be such a hub for Qantas?
Maybe they will reassess how much they are prepared to invest in Singapore

Any particular post? - its 67 pages...

The volumes will decrease via Singapore - will they really need two large lounges?

BA and whatever other airlines use it presently will still use it. There will probably be at leat 4 or 5 QF metal flights a day into singapore.... seems a reasonable thing for them to operate a lounge there.

With the end of the BA JSA there does seem to be a gap
That's yet to be filled in asia...a qf entity perhaps

I suspect that with all the QF traffic now overflying SIN to go to DXB (two A380s a day), the powers that be at Singapore Inc might be a little bit more encouraging to QF to invest in SIN, including the RedQ idea... certainly making the Asian flights their own separate entity and moving forward the flight times would help

The lounges are part of the JSA, with the issues surrounding QP members access indicating lounges are a bone of contention between both airlines there is no guarantee that the arrangement in SIN will continue. I suspect there might be changes given QF F will unlikely be offered with its own metal to SIN now, although EK F will be on offer from Brisbane and other cities. It actually could be possible for BA and EK to swap locations in Singapore.

Re: Changes to Qantas Lounges in Singapore

The word from QF is that Asia will be strengthened so still very much so a need for it.
Seems pointless to have separate lounges for Business class and First Class when they will not likely be offering First Class to/from Singapore.
