It is very nice but many boarding announcements.

Re: Chasing the lads in Lycra down the Champs Elysees - and other fancy places to exp

Flight currently 90 mins late. Still on OZ time which makes it 3am. Boarding gate changed 3 times now and of course we are at the wrong end of the airport. Train stopped at midnight so quite a long walk. We left before boarding call. Currently at the other first class lounge. Decided on a last baileys as no alcohol since the dinner champagne. Nope, this bar closed 20 minutes ago. Beam me up Scotty.

Arrived eventually :p
A pleasant flight given the delays. Took a while for the seat belt sign to go but the instant it did the seat was fully reclined into a bed. No cushion provided but even so quite comfortable. We pre selected window seats behind each other - these sears work very well for night flights. Took two real melatonin just before takeoff (delays again due to traffic) and other than random noises, woke around six hours later due to light - there is always someone who raises the shade when everyone else is asleep. Also a very young baby on the other side who randomly cried but thankfully didn't proceed with long jags, just plenty of random ones.

I didnt realise the Concorde was so small

Immigration quick and painless. The traffic was crawling though. 90 minutes to get to our Hotel. Our room has classic views from the balcony, in the heart of the Latin Quarter.

I've read on these forums that people have found the French rude and arrogant. At the time I disagreed. I always say Bonjour, merci (sometimes beaucoup) and au revoir and as many other appropriate French words that I know. It seems to help a lot. Today at the supermarket the lady at the cashier asked if I had a 10 cent euro coin. As this was our first small purchase I didnt. The Parisian lady behind us, possibly in her 60's, immediately said she would give the coins and refused any repayment from us. Never had that happen in Aust.

I have always found the French people to be friendly and willing to help even when my school girl use of their language must be eye-wateringly awful.

We found the location of the lock we did three years ago. I know, vandalism. The weight must be horrendous. But it is located under here:
Nope. File upload failed again. Come on mods. Roll back this damn app.

I had the photo when we first did lock and there was some graffiti just to the left. Found the faded graffiti and bobs your uncle.
Beautiful Notre Dame.
Nope. I am down to one photo per post now. :(

Actually back to zero now. When I use the browser version the pictures are sideways.

I'm finding that the images are not showing in the app unless I log out and log in again which is a tad tedious as they say. Am I a doof and doing something wrong??
Pushka, I am transported by the pics, especially of the food (yes i'm a gobbler). So easy to find such yummy food in Paris but as I've visited 5 times Mr L_t_L is pushing me to try somewhere different. I did suggest Lyon as they have great food as well. He wants south of France like we had booked a few years ago and had to cancel.
I am living it with you :)

No its the App - it doesnt know if you are logged in even when you are. I usually have to click on unread posts and then go back to subscribed to find this thread.
Full day today. Did the hoho bus - will write a report on TA but they were dreadful. Sat at bus stops for 15 minutes at most stops. Commentary was awful and you would pass by a wonderful building and no comment. Spaces were filled in with woeful music. It wasnt the Big Bus but some other company.
Police everywhere. We saw 5 different groups being searched and patted down. This group had to take their tops off. (Will post all pics below otherwise if they fail I lose all the text).
Did two different loops - a traditional river Seine loop then Montmartre. Which is quite a slum. Smelt bad. Pickpockets everywhere.
