CheckMyTrip Update - No more desktop access or ticket numbers

When trying to import a QF itinerary into the app (app now shows none of trips I can see on website so trying to re-add), I got this message 'Sorry, the airline who made your booking asked me not to use their reservation number when adding trips, in this case we can only add your trip manually'.

All bad signs....
Tinfoil hat time. Instead of paying to fix their ticketing issues, old mate Joyce paid three times as much to Amadeus executives so that QFF members would no longer be able to check if their flights were not ticketed properly.

Haha. But seriously, how ridiculous that Qantas website doesn't give ticket numbers.

The app is beyond terrible - deleting.

Luckily I can still access the desktop web version (but not sure for how long).

I'm guessing they've sold CMT who's going to make it into an ad revenue site/app and make money, not be a free service from Amadeus like it first started as (or Amadeus have decided they want to make money out of it). Either way it's no longer about the service.

So, is there another app that works like Check My Trip but does a better job? What is everyone else using?
Me - a travel agent for all overseas paid bookings. I know that’s not what you meant, sorry ( and you are often flying on points) but it’s an effective way to keep tabs on your bookings and more over, get them fixed if necessary. For domestic, I fly Virgin, who give eticket numbers on their bookings and have an easy contact centre to reach to check anything else.

It's a very slim list of airlines that do have ticket numbers on their websites.

In email receipts, sure (even QF do that). But not in a dynamic MMB website.

Where is that on the VA site? None of my bookings show ticket info. Yes on the email receipts (as per QF), but I can't see it in MMB.

The update certainly has an ad component. Although I didn’t hang around long enough to see any….

The RJ app shows most of the old CMT information including eticket number, seats selected etc. I’m not sure how much it monitors changes.

Yes, on the eTicket PDF. Its the first thing I get when I make a booking, so why would I need to find it a second time?

QF does that too.

If you make changes, you can tell if the change has gone through, especially if it involves partner airlines - hence why everyone is using CMT

I've been using it to track my VA booked QR flight which was unticketed for over a week until I hassled them enough to fix it

Fair 'nuf. I've lived a charmed life.

It might be a cached(?) version you are viewing. If you log out you can't log back in again. The banner on the top of the home page reads.

CheckMyTrip is now available in the mobile app only. To sign up or log in, please download the app from your App Store or Google Play Store. Read more

The software yes but the data is live.

I won't log out!

I can't believe how useless the app has become in one foul swoop! Sadly I was not logged in on desktop so don't have a cached version.

What's even weirder is that my upcoming trip on CX251 had a time change from 11:30pm to 10:35pm a few weeks ago. CMT notified me at that time as normal and I changed my flight successfully through QF MMB.

The updated CMT retained my booking details, but the departure time for CX251 is displaying the old time! It makes me wonder where it is scraping that data from...

Yeah I had similar. Flights changed a few days ago and picked up immediately on CMT. Upgrade back to old times.

My flight that actually leaves YVR at 2pm, arriving at 16:23. Another booking Canberra to OOL is showing a 1:34am departure. Can’t even blame a time zone error.

For now the best option seems to be the RJ app, at least for OW bookings. It won't pick up all Amadeus bookings (I have tried adding upcoming A3 flights) but eticket, seat and fare class all come up seamlessly for upcoming QF ticketed flights.

I used to love CMT and it has been a lifesaver. Now it’s pretty useless. I’ve also sent feedback. I am hoping they will fix this soon or I might as well delete the app. RJ is my go to for now. Anyone else have any other apps that they suggest ?
