CheckMyTrip Update - No more desktop access or ticket numbers

It frustrates me that the Apple App Store displays as default those reviews voted as most helpful rather than recent. The most helpful reviews can be well out of sync with the latest versions as is the case with CMT. To vote a comment as helpful long press on the review. Can we agree one of the recent 1 star reviews to support to try and reset the “most helpful” review?

Would you like to pick a "helpful" recent review and we can all up-vote the same one? ;)

I would strongly counsel upvoting all the recent ones and downvoting all the 'most helpful' reviews that refer to the previous version. It only takes a minute or two, but is less vulnerable to the chosen one star review being removed - which seems to be the fate of so many of them.

Agree if you have the time the blanket up and down vote is best as it will move the old reviews down at the same time as the new ones are coming up. The leading 1 star “most helpful” is by Melbourne Matt - 6.10.0 is a major downgrade - if you only have time for one vote

Ha. That's mine. My 60 seconds of niche internet fame there. Maybe because it was one of the first reviews added post the update so there has been more time for people to vote on it?

I didn't know until today you could up/down vote reviews but have been in and done the mass up vote thing.

You read the app description and it’s that last bullet point that they seem to think was a great idea (probably because it’s a revenue stream through referrals?).

“Ask the assistant for trip information or services: taxi, airport lounge or activities

Which would be fine if they continued the core feature of being able to “check my trip” details!

I wish I’d written something like that in my review. Babies and bath water come to mind….

My theory is Bonza bought CMT.

You can tell because they are both going the mobile app only route.

Interestingly I just received a phone notification from CMT that I can now check in for a flight. This flight was in the old CMT but doesn't show (nor will it allow me to add) in the "new" CMT app. This trip (plus others I have coming up) did show in the desk top version but I can no longer access this. I did see this on the website though - "Please note that some CheckMyTrip users might be experiencing issues seeing past or future trips after our latest app release on 1st March. We are working to fix this issue as soon as possible. We are sorry for the unpleasant experience."

I still can't believe it's been a week with no comment or updates from CMT. Shocking form.

From my recent experience, it seems the MH app updates booking details in real time.

I called QF to change a booking. As soon as the change was made, the ticket number disappeared from the MH app (the booking was still in the app). About 5 minutes later, I received the new e-ticket from QF. I immediately checked the MH app, and it included the new ticket number.

Incidentally, the MH app looks very similar to the RJ app.

Thanks for the tip. MH works really well

Yep the MH MMB system is good. I used it recently to accept a change to a QF flight time that the QF app and website alerted me to but didn’t have a button to accept the change. (There was a MH flight on the same PNR so ymmv)

I didn’t realise that CMT had been downgraded until the digest came out.

I’m on tour now and would have looked again next week for my next sector - but - checking today the “new” app let me in but it only shows my next three sectors - not the eleven it used to show!

I liked CMT because it showed ticket numbers - having been alerted here in the past the importance of this - particularly on redemption flights. Unfortunately, TripIt (paid), Kayak and Tripcase don’t always (or often) pick ticket numbers up when importing flight data.

So I will take the advice proffered by others earlier and vent at the App Store.

received a CMT notification by email regarding a schedule change so that part seems to still work... now calling the AA RTW desk for a reissue of our DONE4 tickets

Agreed. Received 3 schedule changes for my PR internal flights for today.

Out of curiosity, I've also just been looking at other OW alliance airline manage booking websites - both Qatar Airways and Malaysia Airlines (even though I've got no flights with either) even shows more detail than Qantas' own.

E-Ticket numbers and all flight details are showing.

Surely it can't be that hard for Qantas to implement this - but it probably *is* a bit too hard.

I really struggle to understand why the majority of Oneworld airlines hide the eticket numbers....QF is bad and with AA until you get an emailed receipt there is no way other than calling to find you eticket numbers forcing one to RJ QR or AY ....Pathetic really especially with all these schedule changes constantly happening
