Anyone... anyone? Simply not an option?

I don't think you'll be able to use two vouchers for a single booking - so you'd be better off with a $2k voucher anyway - I think?

Hi - it's just the one voucher, with 2 passengers on it, and wanted to buy at a value of $1,500 per passenger... (total voucher value would be $3,000)

I had the same problem last year. I found that the vouchers could often only be redeemed for a flight that was more expensive then those being advertised or being offered elsewhere on the site as a special. Win win for QF as they sell the voucher and force the recipient to, much of the time, redeem it for a fare greater than they can achieve if paying cash by Bpay. If you save the CC fee but the fare paid is greater, why bother. Not going to bother with gift vouchers this year.
I have never had an issue with gift vouchers and I have been using them for 4 years now. Whatever flights are available online I am able to book.

I think you are referring to credit vouchers.

One way to avoid small residual vouchers is to purchase a greater value than one needs for a single flight. My current optimum is $350 gift voucher as that covers 2 x SYD-BNE returns as most of the flights booked are $89 each way.

OK. I thought your earlier posts said you wanted 2 at $1500 or 2 at $1000. A single voucher is all you can use.

So it's 1 voucher per booking only, what happens if 6 people are on that one voucher and each person has $1000 each. Is that still 'one' voucher or six? Is that 6 separate bookings or can it be done on 1?

Why not just read the T&C on the Qantas website. The endless number of questions about these vouchers make me think that many people are either very lazy or very dim.

Clearly different experiences for different people. I have never had a 'credit' voucher only 'gift' vouchers. I found fares on a general booking search that were not offered when I tried to redeem a gift voucher through the redemption link.

If you have 6 people on one voucher then it will be one booking only with the booking reference given.

I don't think you can book different flights for each of the people on that voucher.

I can't imagine that you can; if it's all on one booking with one PNR (=gift voucher reference) everyone has to be travelling on the same flights and indeed would be booked into the same fare bucket.

The rules are simple

X number of names on the gift certificate means you have to book X number of people on the flight.

One voucher per booking

What if you have three people and a cat?
And two of the people want to go from SYD and the other from MEL?
Can I do it all on one voucher? And how many points does the cat earn?!!

Depends if it is a service cat ....

Sound like a good topic for a hand-wringing episode of the ch 9 program!

Does anyone know when the 5x points get posted to your account? When you buy the voucher (and, if so how long after usually) or when you redeem the voucher. Thanks.

From memory it's soon after purchase. I don't think it waits until you use it or the flights are actually taken.

Have just purchased my first voucher and it came through in about 2 minutes. Now to book a BKK sale fare.

Haven't planned next year's travel yet but I definitely want to make use of the offer. *Buys vouchers, plans travel*
