They (QFF) usually do a run at the end of the promo and post all the points at once for all vouchers purchased so I imagine some time in early Jan (and I think they do a catch up run later on probably).

when the promo period was longer they did one at the end of November IIRC and posted those.

you don't tend to get bonus points post for each voucher as or when they are purchased.

Have just purchased my first voucher and it came through in about 2 minutes. Now to book a BKK sale fare.

Hmm I purchased my vouchers several days ago and haven't received the vouchers yet. Looks like a call will be in order.

Yes, it is best to do that. My vouchers came within about 24 hours - will wait patiently till end of January for my bonus points. Thanks to all who responded to my query re point arrival timing.

Could take until the end of Feb as it's 8 weeks from the END of the promotion.

Although in practice they tended to show up in mid Jan earlier this year.

I just bought 2 x $2000 vouchers, and was able to use the booking reference it gave me on the confirmation page about 2 minutes later to successfully book a sale fare MEL-SIN-MEL.

Vouchers still not received through email but if you note down the reference number you don't actually need the voucher itself to make a booking.

Yes, if they don't generally show up in an email within say 15min-1 hour it's usually time to call.

my new practice is to copy the PNR from the confirmation screen so I can use it.

strangely enough ever since I have started doing this, the damn emails show up within about 5 minutes. typical! :D

Bought a voucher today and used it for an ADL-xSYD-CGK return. Really good value at $6.37/SC in J when combined with the $100 Amex rebate that was floating around this week.

Unless all the problems of chasing residuals and points is sorted, then for me saving on CC fees doesn't make up for not having the money available.

I'll be purchasing a few shortly. Enough for travel needs through to March and a few spares thereafter. Main purpose is the CC fee saving - especially as the multi-city engine now refuses to do simple series (forcing me into different tickets - so extra fees) or waiting for an agent to book.

I have had no trouble with 4 vouchers I purchased with the QF/Amex $350 less $50 promo.

Used 2 them under the value and some minutes later nice fresh vouchers each holding the remaining values were emailed with new booking references.

It was all automatic.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

If I'm looking at booking flights with QF shortly with my parents to SGN (me out of SYD, them out of BNE, so two separate PNRs) are there any traps here, or is it literally just 5 points/$ on top of the flights earning?

Should I buy one voucher to cover the whole cost (and it reissues credits after I book the first flight) or buy separate ones?

Any things I should look out for? Voucher newbie here...

Two separate PNRs will require 2 separate vouchers. The T&C explain it all and if you read all this thread you'll get plenty of tips too.

I guess it's all relative.

Have never had an issue with residual vouchers. Longest has taken a few hours to come through. Always have a few vouchers on hand. One can purchase a lot of $89 airfares with ~$3500-$5000 worth of gift vouchers. The saving on credit card surcharge has been huge.

The bonus points are a bonus.

Last year it took me up to 4 months to chase reissued vouchers. My advice, buy a voucher slightly less that your intended ticket price and save yourself the headache.

I think the real issue with the vouchers, including residual credit, is that when everything's simple and by the book it all works properly. BUT when there's something weird(and this can be defined many ways!) then the voucher or credit request, goes into the manual queue, and the manual queue rules seem to relate to time and space. In one respect I get it that they say manual queues are processed in urgency order - for example, a ticket for a trip in 2 days is more urgent than one in 2 months. That's fine, but what annoys me is to have vouchers sitting there for 2 months or so with no action. They can't be busy processing these things 24/7 on a "just in time" basis surely?

When I call up (either because I want the voucher or residual sorted) it either goes one of two ways. Mostly I get very friendly agents who exclaim "Oh that's not right ot wait so long, I'll push it through to them now" and it's done in minutes or a couple of hours. A couple of times I've been given the "This voucher is for a trip in a few months, it won't be processed yet" and the stone wall of basically "tough" (but I'd like that credit thanks to use on a sale if you don't mind!). When I've contacted the P1 team they've sorted it (well I've only felt the need once).

Whenever I ask what causes the issues where some vouchers go through absolutely perfectly (I just ticketed one about an hour ago) and others go into limbo, there's never a convincing response or reasonable reason given and it bugs me. Seems to be a systems issue, but nothing that I can pin down to be a common factor or cause.

You'd think if there were thousands of these things in the "manual queue" then QF would be inspired to do something about it. Maybe not...

my 2 cents.

Are the vouchers issued in 'real time' - i.e. can I purchase one and then use it a few minutes later, or do they take time to process, out of interest?

You can use the voucher as soon as payment for it has been taken and you have arrived at the final screen showing the voucher number.
