Christmas 2015 Voucher Offer: Earn 5 points per $ spent (1 to 31 December 2015)

Are these offers typically only once per year? I did buy a voucher for a booking I needed to make immediately, but it looks like I will be doing some more flights with QF this year. It's a bit unfortunate, but I wasn't sure whether I'd be paying for the flights or not and the arrangements were only confirmed last week. With no bonus points, are there any other benefits to these vouchers apart from the saving on the credit card fee?
Typically only once a year. The main benefit is what they were designed for - to give to other people as a, err, gift. [Of course such a suggestion will probably rock AFF to its foundations...]

I've never seen them other than at xmas time.

Nope. Unless you actually want to give one as a gift, of course.

Thanks to both of you. I wonder what percentage have ever actually been given as a gift...

Two out of maybe 30 in the past 3 years have been gifts. Rest were personal use.

I continue to lurk, I continue to learn ...
Next Christmas, I'll be ready when the offer comes.
i just love AFF. Even if half the time I can only just make out what youre all talking about it (the abbreviations post is getting a workout ;)), I feel like I've become part of a secret club.
I can imagine how much trouble I could have gotten myself into with the vouchers if I hadn't read this thread. Thanks!

I thought about purchasing a voucher. Then I sat and thought some more. Am I really likely to (want to) fly QF in 2016? And if so where (from PER)? Domestic flying has no appeal. QF doesn't fly to HKG. They also don't fly to NRT. They do fly to SIN, :)but the cheap opportunities onward mean flying to KUL. Nobody flies direct to CMB.:evil: Then also I'll be in no flying mode for at least 4 months (and absent from AFF for a couple of weeks :()

So no, I didn't respond to the marketing and yes I have no vouchers.:shock:

Happy wandering

Fred

Has anyone received the qantas points from buying those gift vouchers yet? I still haven't received mine and not sure whether to chase up or not.

Qantas Points may take up to 8 weeks to be credited to your account from the end of the campaign period.

Wouldn't expect anything until end of February based on that.

Happy to report these posted for me overnight 1/2 Feb :D

unlike last year they seemed to post in batches of separate entries. I'm not certain but I think a posting of bonus points for each voucher purchased, unlike a total number of bonus points in one transaction.

Nice to get the bonus finally post :) I even received a little more than I expected - I think I bought an extra voucher I didn't account for in my calculations :D

And mine! Happy that they didn't take the full 8 weeks post-promotion end that they could have.

I received mine too, though I'm missing some expected points. In doing a reconciliation, I'm wondering if I've affected the process for the voucher I bought during the promotion period in my name, but just last week redeemed and changed the name to another person. That's the value of of the points I'm missing. Wonder how I go about explaining that one to someone on the call centre. Am thinking a PM to Red Roo may be the easiest.

Looks like most (if not all) the bonus points were processed and posted overnight as I have received mine today.

Wished I have purchased a bit more as I have used up a large chunk of the vouchers already.

Ditto. I didn't expect to use mine so quickly but a few things came up and well.. all gone bar one

Any chance residual vouchers are now being issued automatically and in a timely manner? Not sure if I should just buy a new voucher for a lower value booking and not have to worry about chasing the residual voucher.
