I just price matched Tiger with Jetstar and got return SYD/MEL for $100.70. If there is a Flounge guest spot available I would be happy to take it.
Flights booked JQ35 1400 ex SYD and JQ524 1800 ex MEL.

Hang on. I'm not confirmed yet. To make it really worth my while I'm trying to be assured of having several hours in the F lounge if I take an overnight QF flight from PER.

You'd hope so however in case they don't, after finishing with QF checkin head over the JQ domestic checkin counters which should be staffed at that hour & say "hi there, I'm already checked in for a connecting flight on JQ35 but I just need a reprint of my boarding pass". That lets them off the hook from taking responsibility for doing the actual checkin which for some staff is akin to violating one of the ten commandments.

But what's the chance JQ at PER would be able to issue me a D sticker? I would say slim to none. Unfortunately, that still leaves me with no definitive answer as to whether or not I get the loooong time in the F lounge.

Should be able to get a D Sticker from the T2 QP or even the F desk if you have the BP.

Ahhh. Okay. Thank you. That pretty all but tips me over the edge. I'm in Singapore at the moment (and have photographic proof of how Australian duty free stores are ripping us off booze-wise which I'll post in the duty free thread in the coming days) but when I get back to PER next week I'll give the lounge a call and see if they have any stickers. If so, I'll beall out of excuses!

I'm in the throws of booking as well... deciding how to do it: JASA/YASA or book JQ separately.

The transfer bus desk in T3 has D stickers.

Great. So it seems that if I follow ozbeachbabe's suggestion and get my JQ boarding pass re-printed by JQ in PER after I've checked in with QF, I should have all bases covered.

If anyone foresees any problems, please post.

Ok. For a pretty lazy guy that enjoys a drink or 2. Can anyone give me a brief overview of the GO!

I think I'm free and would not mind catching up for a drink.

Will have guest spots if this works out.

Three weeks out - that a bit far in advance for you isn't it ... :p

Anyway, there's a domestic segment on Jetstar from SYD International to MEL on Sat departing at 2pm.

A group are getting together to all travel on this flight as it's nigh on a year since Qantas removed Anytime access as a WP benefit.

A WP or CL travelling on it can use the First Class lounge before the flight.

The idea is to check in as early as is reasonable to allow greater use of the F/L before the flight.

(The good news is that 1A is still available on JQ35.):D

I would not rely highly on the T3 transfer desk. I've been told of an anecdote where the people behind that counter were rather b*tchy about giving such a sticker.

In other words, don't rely too much on this avenue and have a backup plan. But that shouldn't be too difficult. The QF F desk at T1 should be able to help you.

Thanks, I've only once got a D sticker from the bus desk. But I actually bailed up the guy who scans your BP as you go done to the waiting area at a busy time. There was a heap of D sticker in the draw underneath the scanner. Maybe he was too busy to pull out the attitude.

Don't a few of you BNE-ites still have some spare 'D' stickers from that night at the Mill?

Anyone who needs a couple PM me & we'll sort something out. We don't want a measly 'D' sticker being the only thing to come between JQ (re)issuing a humble boarding pass which equates to precious Flounge time.

Medhead
Whilst I was researching intl flights that fly within Oz I stumbled upon the fact that on a Tuesday you could take QF20 BNE/SYD then QF81 SYD/ADL so you could tailor a DIY kind of Flounge run at your convenience - subject as always to regulatory approval from SWMBO!

One almost get's the impression that some people might use the line "I'd love to give a boarding pass but I don't have any 'D' stickers" as an excuse to not reprint it if they like being a 'dog in the manger' so to speak. That's when you produce one of your own which IMHO should be standard issue for any WP's amenity kit.
