Shift your mortgage is my advice. There are numerous providers with sub 4% variable rates.

It's negatively geared part fixed and part variable, but maybe I should look into other providers for at least the variable loan.

Applied and received the card today. However in the application form it never asks for my Qantas number, so as soon as I activated it, I went to the Awards website and Opt-in Qantas points myself immediately.

Now I just have to spend $500 and wait for the 40K QF points. Not sure how successful. But I've PDFed the promo page in case they said that the promo does not exist or I didn't apply through the link etc.

Have a read of my similar experiences reported earlier in the thread.

I also took the action of getting them to put in writing that I was eligible for the offer and had applied via the correct link.

I've now spent the $500 and am waiting for the annual fee refund and points.

Like many others, I've yet to see a fee refund or the bonus points. I gave them a call about it last Friday, but haven't heard anything yet.

No contact from CommBank, but the $119 annual fee (they only saw fit to give me a Gold card) has since been refunded, so now I'm $119 in credit. Handy timing in a way, with another Amex Shop Small promo starting in a few days.

No bonus points yet, though. (Not even pending in NetBank > Awards.)

Same here bluey, but it's 10,000 CBA rewards points that trasfer as 5,000 QFF points.

Indeed it is 10k CBA points, 5k QFF points. I had a vigorous discussion with CBA about it today. Score 0 all at the moment. Complaint lodged and a supervisor is going to write to me, we'll see how it turns out.

Don't really have the motivation or energy to push it too hard.

Finally got approved after I uploaded a proof of employment... Received the cards, opt in the Qantas points program and have spent the $500.

Hope the bonus points don't take forever to be credited.

My points and annual fee refund hadn't been processed after > 3 months. I called - they confirmed that I was signed up for the promo, had met the requirements, etc. but they were unsure as to why nothing had been triggered. Will hopefully post now :).

My +1 has the same issue....pts/credit will post Mid November on next statement they said (after CBA manual intervention)....mine had already posted <1 month after spend.

I had the same issue and they posted about a week after I called and complained - so yours should be on the way soon :)

Im trying to work out if paying my car rego is an eligible payment...it seems like it should be ok..

Seems they aren't even charging the annual fee now just to refund it. Got this on my statement:
