Good to know, just got approved so now its a waiting game for the card to arrive

Cards came very quickly for Mrs Ralph and myself. Having already reached the low $500 spend threshold, about to pay my first statement, no sign of the points yet.

Interestingly I got the 40k QFF points without spending a single dollar on this card

After 6 months no points/credit arrived.
Second call to CB, this time the rep said it should have been done within 90 days of meeting the conditions, and he can't see why it wasn't (confirmed I met the conditions)
He is escalating to another team, but said it may take 5 days to get back to me...

I've finally received the bonus points from offer Mk I. I'm not even going to bother applying for offer Mk II.

Seems commonwealth bank approved me for a card that I hadn't applied for. So goodbye 40k points

Are you sure you're ineligible? It doesn't say you have to be a new customer when I looked (a while ago now)...

Did you apply for Platinum, but were only given Gold or the basic card? That happened to me, and others on AFF, with offer Mk I, but we were told that as long as we applied via the promo link, we'd still get the bonus points and the annual fee reversed. Yes, I eventually got them, but it took a couple of 'phone calls and a lot of patience.

I assume that you've applied for the Mk II offer. Give them a call and see what they say.

Thats exactly what happened, applied for platinum but got given a gold one with a lower credit limit. Tried calling but was on hold forever so will try again. Fingers crossed I'll still get the points!

I spoke with them and the girl was just as confused as I was and had to escalate it to the CC team to see about my points.

Jeez their on the ball at CBA! I had application refused - not surprising every time I apply for CBA cards I get refused - no biggie.

I also applied for Cruiserette - more info reqd - like last years tax assessment and tax return - no biggie - she emails them last 2 years - and a very very successful business she owns.

She hears nothing for like 3 weeks so she calls them - sorry Ms Cruiserette but because you are self employed we need full trading figures of yoir company - don'tr be ridiculous - this is an application for a personal card - no matter you must bring the required docs into a branch for verification - whatever.

Next day an envelope arrives with her new cards inside - OMG - sounds a bit like Citi huh? But wait - there is more - it gets better!

She calls up to activate the cards - does Amex first via phone key pad - beep beep beep you know the sound as you key in the numbers - works perfectly - all done - then she goes to do the Visa or MC or whatever the other one is - beep beep beep sorry activation fails - please call us to complete.

So she calls the number listed on card and explains to agent what has just happened - agent says oh so sorry about this we will get this all fixed up in no time - I just need to ask you a few security questions - no problem go ahead - firstly your full name please - Cruiserette Murgatroyd Elite - er sorry - can you repeat that please - Cruiserette Murgatroyd Elite - sorry that is incorrect - you have failed the security identification and you will need to visit a branch to complete activation.

WTF - she has a letter with her full name clearly spelled out on it - she has 2 cards with her correct name on them - but somehow she doesn't know her own name according to CBA! On the ball this mob!

So I rang up today to cancel this card, as the points earn isn't that awesome and I'm switching across to AMEX via the massive offers they currently have. Anyway CBA immediately offered me 10,000 points to keep the card - which I was a sucker and gleefully accepted. Apparently I'm easily distracted by shinny things! Oh well.

Similar thing happened to me today.

Only offered 5000 CBA point = 2500 QFF points.

Will wait until 2016 to try and cancel again.

Please keep us apprised your progress.
I called them this morning and they said that because I applied through the Qantas CC app link, the bonus points and yearly fee waiver are applied to whatever card you apply for. So I will get my points so Im happy.

Applied and approved in June, activated card in June. Called up CBA to 100% confirm I was on the promotion, confirmed I applied via the link, yada yada. All good according to the phone rep in June. $10 QF fee deducted in first statement cycle. Met minimum spend a week or so after. Now time to wait the 90 days.

5 months past and neither the 40k point have hit my account nor have I been refunded the $295.

Called up today, low and behold I'm told "Sorry Mr Snabbu your account is not linked to the offer".

Explained my situation and how numerous work colleagues (read AFF'ers  ) have also applied and had this exact same problem over the course of the promotion.

Told my case has been escalated to the "promotions team" and I should see the $ refund and points transferred at the end of my current billing cycle. I thought that was weird to say it had been escalated then in the next breath that I will receive the benefits, so I quizzed the operator. He advised that due to the volume of people calling to chase up this issue the points/$ are always rectified as they know the promotion had issues.

Seems typical to me. Offer promotion to lure in customers, don't actually come through with the benefits then wait for people to call. I'd bet at least 50% of people would forget to chase things like this up.

Confirming that along with the annual fee, the QFF membership fee is also being refunded. I don't think this happEned under the first offering:

Yeah it's pretty rubbish isn't. If you ring again next year, let us know how you go.

For anyone who's fed up with CBA's customer service, I can say AMEX (who I've recently moved to) is a real breath of fresh air! Hopefully they can keep it up...

I've had the opposite experience. AMEX have clearly displayed a don't care attitude towards myself and Mrs Ralph, particularly with Smallshop redemptions.
