After your card is active you need to opt in through the awards site to credit the points to your QF account and you will enter your FF number at that stage.

Dont think there's a way through the website to enter your QF account number.

You need to call up and request to opt in for Qantas rewards. The lady on the phone told me that we get 20k points on activation and 20k after the $500 spend.

This happened with NAB although they called me before issuing. I asked them to review as I would only want the Platinum one and within about 3 days they called back to advised I was approved. I think my income / expenses passed with flying colours although because of my credit score being low due to a lot of recent applications they pushed me down.

Applied Tuesday, didnt get approved straight away and uploaded payslips right after completing the application. Approval via email and txt message over the weekend (exisiting customer). Logged into Netbank, the cards that show up are the Gold Rewards cards with $5,000 limit. I knew the application included a consent to being offered a different card but a call beforehand would have been nice and would have saved everyone involved a lot of work - but then I guess they just want to push numbers no matter what. Already took advantage of both NAB offers this year so not too surprised. A bit strange though that they offer a Gold with $5k limit but shy away from Platinum and $6k.

Make sure to call up and check that the promotional offer has been applied to your credit card account. I've had issues with CommBank before, and surprise surprise, this time they had to manually add the promo code (despite applying through the dedicated page!)

Yes, I was intending on activating over the phone for exactly this reason. My faith in systems is low.

Just to follow up, rang them today and appearently there is no review process. Canceled the card over the phone, lets see if any fees and charges show up.

Winning! Approved this morning. 40K points coming my way... Between this promotion and the recent NAB one - that will be 80K points for $10 . Happy days. :)

How long since the time you applied?

I near 1 week maby now?

I was conditionally approved for a nice amount on 16 May and sent in two financial records within a day or 2. Haven't seen or heard anything since!

I applied last Saturday ish (5 days or so now). Rang yesterday and today.

Told today I've got only 1 more hurdle (you've been bla bla approved, should become official tonight).

So will check online tomorrow to see if anything shows.

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster. QFF addict. Business traveller reaping personal benefits from business travel, shopping habits and CC promotions to fund my international vacation travel addiction.

I just applied for the CBA card with 40,000 points - Online approved in 2 minutes.

This amazes me, as so far this calendar year I have applied for NAB plat and got their 40k bonus with no fee. Got the ANZ plat with 50K bonus and no fee (awaiting for ANZ points to be credited), applied this morning for the CBA plat with 40k free,

but last week applied for Jetstar with 50k sign up bonuses and got rejected !

Who knows what giudelines they use. I am a fair income earner with very little personal debt and high savings, and always pay card off by due date - I use cards purely for conveniene of not having to carry cash, and for the points earn.

So interesting that the Jetstar card got declined, but all major banks approve me.

PS my ongoing card (the one I never cancel and use all the time as part of my wealth package) is the WBC Earth Black. So I have that in the wallet also.

I just sign up, do the minimum spend, then leave the card at home and never use it again until its time to pick it up and cancel before the first year is up.

So I have just lost my faith in CBA. I was approved, and the cards arrived - GOLD card, not Platinum. I was about to activate when I noticed this so I rang CBA. They told me to call retentions, which I did. They took about 4 days to get back to me. They said many other customers had complained they were approved but then got the wrong card. So I said well give me the right card. Girl in retentions said she cant do that. All she could offer was to "retain me" by giving me the 40K points on the gold card, but with annual fee. I said no thanks. So she cancelled the cards there and then, and said if I wanted the platinum with the fee free and 40k I would have to re apply.

How Stupid CBA. They could have just given me the points and fee free and I would have kept the card and activated. saved them money doing a new app and new cards. Of they could have upgraded me, but no, they want me to go through the whole approval process again.

How Silly CBA

Question for you all ?????

If anyone has the ANZ card with the bonus points, has anyone seen how long it has taken them to post points ???

I did NAB offer in April and for those points within a couple weeks.

I did ANZ also, and no points posted yet

Thanks

I hit my min. spend requirements on ANZ in October (previous promotion) and they weren't posted until February...

What did you put as your income?

I fear it may be annoying for some to hear (or maybe I'll discover in a few months I'm the one annoyed!), but I thought I'd share my tale with this card.

I applied and didn't even get gold... I was sent the basic 'Awards' card! So, I went in to a branch to discuss and with not much happening there, I said I'd like to cancel. The teller person rang cards and spoke for a minute or two, then put me on the line to speak. The lady on the other end of the phone said that because I had applied online through the link, the offer would still stand as it was registered for my base level Awards card - just spend the $500 and I would get 40,000 points and fee waiver I was told!! Nevertheless, I kept the card intact and am on my way to spending the $500 and putting it away!

Does anyone know what the minimum credit limit the Platinum Card is? I just noticed that my credit card was approved, but after reading this thread it would nice to know what type of card I will be getting? I have applied for 3 credit cards in the last month, (2 approved - and the other seems to be too hard.....the Bankwest is still hanging 2 months later). I have 5 credit cards, so I think that it is time to cancel a couple - and wait 6 months before anything new.

Does anyone know what the minimum credit limit the Platinum Card is?

The Key Facts Sheet on the CommBank web site says $6000, which seems to the most common minimum limit for Platinum cards. Of the five Platinum cards in my current collection of seven accounts, four of them have a minimum credit limit of $6000. (The other card, an Amex Platinum Edge, has a minimum limit of $3000.)

I've got the cards in my hot hands.

Approved after online form & a few sets of document being uploaded & phone call to employer!

Yeah, time to spend $500.

I have activated the card and spent $500 on the card and haven't received the 20k points on activation.

From the CBA site T&C's;
When will I receive my bonus Qantas Points?
It will take up to 90 days from the date of meeting the spend criteria for the bonus points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account provided that you are not in breach of the Credit Card Conditions of Use and your account remains open.

Don't know if already answered, but..

In regards to the fee free 1st year (that they deduct the fee, but credit it back).. How long does it take to get refunded?

A co worker is stressing they need to pay the annual fee to make sure they dont get charged interest.

I just activated my basic card today, now just need to spend $500 before i get 40k.
