Don't know if already answered, but..

In regards to the fee free 1st year (that they deduct the fee, but credit it back).. How long does it take to get refunded?

A co worker is stressing they need to pay the annual fee to make sure they dont get charged interest.

I just activated my basic card today, now just need to spend $500 before i get 40k.

From the T&C's - "The annual fee will still be charged to your account but will be credited back to your within 90 days."

I guess you friend just needs to pay the fee before the month ticks over if interest is not to be accrued. A condition of the deal is that $500 needs to be spent to earn the points so the fee credit would offset any payment of this amount. Surely your friend is not thinking of closing the account as soon as the points hit the QFF account? ;)

Cards activated yesterday; spent $775 today paying bills; waiting for my 40,000 points (up to 90 days so I've been told)

Winning

Has anyone looked at the ANZ deal? 50k for $3,000 spend + $55 membership fee.

My spend points have just landed in my QFF account.

Now just waiting for my bonus points.

On card collection were you required to show pay slips, group certificate etc?

No.

I was required to provide pay slips online & proof of rental income after conditional approval and before the physical cards arrived in my letterbox. A phone call was made to my office to confirm that I was still employed.

From memory the cards arrived two/three days after the phone call to the office.

I was conditionally approved on 16 May. Uploaded a couple of pay slips and then there was silence........Called CBA early last week but no one could assist on phone or online as I was not an existing customer (and therefore also couldn't access any status info via net bank)! Apparently I would have to go to a branch to be 'ídentified' and then someone might be able to tell me the status of the application. I didn't get to a branch before a letter arrived from CBA on Thursday confirming my application was successful and cards were on their way. They arrived Friday. Now to activate and spend!

It was asked online, submitted payslips twice before it got fully approved. Not sure if a call was made to verify employment.

I applied for this, decision pending, uploaded 2 payslips. Waited 3 days, then Netbank showed status Approved. Yay!

Correct cards arrived in mail today. No mention anywhere about my waived annual fee or QFF points. (I used the correct link).
Will phone in the morning to make sure it's correct, not going through the hoops if they've botched it.

Would've been nice if they included the QFF benefits on my mailed offer sheet!

Now to cancel ANZ... Pity, the black card was nice.

I agree.

Forgot to say the I called CBA one night to confirm my QFF details and all the associated points were being flushed to my QFF account. After a long hold I was told to call back when the CBA Rewards Centre was open.

So I called again in the morning and added my QFF number and confirmed my reward points were being flushed to QF.

The CBA lady also said that a $10 charge for the QF linkage would be added to my account.

Hopefully, not everyone else will have to do this.

I inadvertently applied for 2 AMEX cards on the same day a couple of years ago. I got both cards. One was the $0 fee Velocity 1 point per $ which I still have, and the other one I cancelled after the points came in.

Is there a time lag on inputting data so that if you apply for 2 credit cards at the same time they are each unaware of the other application?

edit: Maybe I should ask if anyone has applied for 2 cards at the same time? What was the outcome?

It's official....the Amex card is much harder to staple than the mCard. Two sets of cards qualified for and now filed.

Did anyone else apply for the Platinum, get an email saying 'Congratulations, you've been approved' then get their letter in the mail with details of an inferior card?

Yes (offered Gold), but when I rang them - they happily told me that since I had applied via the link - 40k points and the $10 fee still applied (+ $10 join Qantas fee). Happy - spent the $500+ to trigger (earn rate is poor).

Without going over 10 pages, how do the bonus points get given?

1 lot of 40k?
Other?

Reason I ask: Points have transferred to QFF, to the tune of around 8,200ish points.

How much did I spend? Just under $685, excluding fees. (Annual fee charged + $10 qff fee).

I've just uploaded my payslips for a third time. It tells me that they were received, but continues to ask for them.

Had the same issue, uploaded 3 times but still said "Action required - upload payslips". Called them up, they told me they've send out a letter because in my case they required additional information (which was 100% plausible for my case). Letter was in the mail same day that I called them.

The only gripe I had with the whole procedure: you apply online in Netbank, Commbank communicates with you through Netbank anyway, you tick a box to consent they keep you up to date by SMS about your application etc. And then something comes up, they need more information, and all they do is send you a letter by snail mail, which to top it all off doesn't actually say what they want but only tells me to call them...again. Not even a reference number or anything. So called them again and found out I had to present some original documents in a branch for verification. They could have just called me and told me that, saved money in the process and sped it up by a week.... anyway, rant over.

Sounds like I'm in for the same run around. I received this message in NetBank this morning....

Your request to finalise your credit card application has now been processed.

If your application is approved, you will receive your new credit card within 7 working days. If we require supporting documentation, you will receive a letter within 5 working days, detailing what is required.
