Any chance ?
I'd say it's still an outside chance, but only once QF have a full fleet of 787s, and BER actually opens!
It's no secret that Emirates would like to codeshare on a QF flight from DXB to somewhere in Germany (e.g. Berlin) to get around their current slot restraints.
The construction of BER is the biggest farce in the construction world.
Still not clear that BER will even open in October 2017

Latest I've heard is that it will open no earlier than 24 March 2018, but apparently an opening date of 5 February 2019 is "most likely".

With the Brexit their may be an opportunity QF to go back to Germany whether it be FRA or BER.
How do you figure?
Good point, although having a land border is not a requirement for being a member. E.g. Iceland or Greece do not have a border with other members. What are you all talking about? UK is not part of the Schengen Agreement countries with a single border. If you fly from Berlin or Madrid or Zurich to London everyone still has to go through immigration on entry into London. EU members do currently get a priority lane. Maybe now they'll switch that to Commonwealth members hahaha.....

There may be rule differences that make EU more attractive an entry point. It might be better for pax that only want to enter EU if UK withdraw from the Schengen treaty. On the flip side Qantas might want to avoid EU261, or whatever the proper number.
