Indeed, I get the impression Aussies are too busy emptying supermarket shelves to go on holiday!
cheers skip

Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

Well am happy to say that there may be an end to this panic buying noinsense in my suburb.

Sat morning got to my local woolies just before opening (I really wanted mince), there were police at the door and about 50-60 people waiting at the doors. Stood far at the back and waited.

Got in last and happy to report, there was everything in stock (toilet paper and mince), only things still missing are tissues and those foam hand wash pumps that we use.

I have been pretty unimpressed with the leadership generally at both state and federal level. Desperate times need desperate measures. Can't we co-opt Shane Fitzsimmons as PM to steer the country through this crisis? He was outstanding as NSW Rural Fire Services commissioner during the bushfires crisis.
We had Georgiana Whelan as head of the ESA in Canberra during the bushfire crisis and she gave multiple briefings a day. Clear, calm, concise - you would relax just listening to her even though the fires were so near.

At this point we are still guessing in the ACT what the actual rules are and assuming we are following Morrison’s announcements. Barr hasn’t even updated his announcement or clarified anything except for schools. It’s a disgrace :(

I was able to get everything I ordered today in my Woolworths Online delivery order (I am on self-isolation and in their priority system now) today except for rice. I made the order last Thursday so you can imagine there had been some anticipation and in particular some concern about what I might actually end up with as we literally had nothing to begin with. I am happy that we were able to get so much of what we ordered, I did not expect to.

We got to our local Woollies for the last 15 minutes of senior's hour.Absolutely no difference-TP,tissues,pasta,mince and a few more things still missing.

Went to Bunnings before that-no veggie seeds or seedlings.Fortunately we have self seeding tomatoes, basil, parsley and coriander. And our vanilla orchid is still alive.

In wonder what the spring ads will be like for the garden industry? Sham Wow style screeching but about prepping to avoid the Woolies & Coles apocalypse

There has been steady improvement from the response of politicians IMO. That's all I really expect. No one alive knows what it's like to live through a worldwide pandemic so it's understandable that we don't know the best ways to react. All I want is for the decisions we make today, to be better than yesterday.

Home panic situation! Mum in law toddled over and asked if we had flour. Hubby phoned me to ask if we had flour.

Me: Plain or Self Raising flour?
Him: *panic*
Me: Take both tupperware containers, they are both labelled.

We usually have 4 trucks per day in Sydney for a particular product for a particular customer deliveries. Its currently 10 trucks per day and growing.

Hubby went to our village shops to pick up our mail, it has a small Coles and Woolies.

He said when he got there, a woman and a guy were having a punch up in the carpark. He said the woman was swinging punches at the guy. Shes lucky he was a bloke that didnt swing back.

He then said at Coles, a woman was being escorted out as she went behind the counter to grab her own shopping bags and argued when staff said she couldnt do that and had to put it back. She refused so was escorted out.

We've been told to go home for at least a month...... I havent even started packing yet.

Had to phone a hand sanitiser supplier about my delivery for next week to redirect to my house.

Me: Im not phoning to chase it up, I know you'll send it when you get it.....

You could hear her sigh of relief as she thought it was going to be one of those phone calls, hassling her for delivery.

At the self serve check out I was waiting for a space to become available. The guy was paying and noticed he had left his basket on the shelf. I wasnt going to touch it so as he was about to leave I asked him to move it to the stack. Its the little things that may matter.

At checkout on Saturday morning I had my weekly shop and from the frozen section 2 bags of frozen veg(the ones with 2 X individual serves per bag) so 2 days worth of veg for our family and 1 bag of frozen chips.

I was told that I could only take 2 bags of frozen veg. I put the chips back :( Another customer questoned the check out person and apparently potatoes (chips and hash browns) are a veg so if I had 1 bag of veg, 1 chips and 1 hash browns I would still have to put one back.

Not a big deal for us but I can see someone with a larger family having a go about it.

You can blame the hordes that have bought up every freezer available in the whitegoods stores and then have been filling them with frozen goods and fresh meet. The good news is that they probably all filled them now.

Time to plan your panic buying of new xmas outfits in anticipation of a rush when restrictions are lifted 😂😂😂😂

TIP of the day: make sure you plan the right size given the eating that is going on during self isolation LOL
