Indeed, I get the impression Aussies are too busy emptying supermarket shelves to go on holiday!
cheers skip

Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

There were 1500 Diagou stores in australi,NZ in 2017.These are professional Chinese shoppers getting products back to China.I doubt that they just went Oh well our business model is now defunct.I reported before a group of Chinese shoppers in Bundy 3 weeks ago when Bundy hadn't run out of anything.Stuff was being loaded in 2 vans and then they headed back inside.
Twitter has many videos of the same thing going on.
My brother was in Hastings (Vic) last week and up rolled a mini van, passengers disgorged & he said it was like a swarm of locusts. Really I think the Police should have powers under a State of Emergency to arrest. I've a vague idea they coiuld do that in WW2

Local coles had no frozen veg, toilet paper, tissues, hand sanitiser, liquid soap, shower gel, flour or stock and almost no pasta on either Saturday or Sunday.

Im now on WFH indefinitely - already rationing snacks etc - as I normally eat Breaky and Lunch at cafe near the office and eat out for dinner 3-4 nights a week - now i have to eat at home :(

Already have a caffeine withdrawal headache - oh how I miss you coffee.

Can you get one of those meal boxes like Marley Spoon?

Told my boss Im going to be thinner by the time we come back.

The liquor stores started getting hit earlier this week. The local Dan Murphy's store manager was in my store a few days ago and said it was getting insane over there as well.

The staff are just generally tired. It's getting close to 3 weeks of this insanity.
At least there are some nice customers out there.
A random customer gifted the staff at work with a trolley load of pizza for lunch today.
Coles in Langwarrin yesterday morning had meat, eggs, milk, plenty of fresh veggies and fruit. I didn't check the eggs - buy mine at an egg farm just up the road, tray of 30 for $10, Went past a lovely big Italian deli in Mordialloc on Saturday, and they had mince, all kinds of other meat - limits of 1 kilo, gorgeous fruit veggies, deli, cheese. Support your local sheriff I say & not the big supermarkets. My visit to Coles was only to buy chocolate and coffee.....

Panic in the office... When I say I'm cleaning out the fridge, I'm cleaning out the fridge.... Including the unopened wine that's been given away.

I think there's going to be a bit of Monday night drinking tonight.

Time to plan your panic buying of new xmas outfits in anticipation of a rush when restrictions are lifted 😂😂😂😂

TIP of the day: make sure you plan the right size given the eating that is going on during self isolation LOL
I'm still losing weight. I am almost back to where I was when I was 18 and I was a skinny wretch back then ;)

I've already started hoarding Japan 2021 Olympic Memorabilia. Damned be, if anyone else get any of it!
Sadly my neighbour told me yesterday that she'd been selected to be part of ASAADA and going to Japan. She would be happy with a deferral as long as they pick her again. I expect they will.

At checkout on Saturday morning I had my weekly shop and from the frozen section 2 bags of frozen veg(the ones with 2 X individual serves per bag) so 2 days worth of veg for our family and 1 bag of frozen chips.

I was told that I could only take 2 bags of frozen veg. I put the chips back :( Another customer questoned the check out person and apparently potatoes (chips and hash browns) are a veg so if I had 1 bag of veg, 1 chips and 1 hash browns I would still have to put one back.

Not a big deal for us but I can see someone with a larger family having a go about it.
We generally buy 1kg of frozen peas and 1kg of frozen corn at a time. Last week they only had 500g bags of corn at Coles, so Mr FM put 2 bags of corn and 1 of peas. No had to put 1 back as had exceeded the number allowed :)

Assuming they’re taking new customers. Hello Fresh isn’t.

Annoyed I won’t be able to get my usual winter veg seedlings.
Marley Spoon might be. We had our first tonight and it was good. I'm thinking around $25 a meal for two which is a little exxy but they do supply things you can't get in the supermarkets.

My experience in the UK is if you're not in the store in the first 0-5 minutes, you've got no chance at TP, pasta, eggs, bread etc.

Saw a bloke walking out with 10 bags of pasta today so give him a piece of my mind. Just infuriating.

I suspect with the new measures announced in the UK my supermarket attempt will be even more difficult tomorrow. If you don't hear from me again... Well... It was nice knowing you all ;)

Aussies went early, blew all their cash, so now we have sensible orderly shopping again. It is comforting to know that Australia produces sufficient food to feed 75 million.
