Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Yes, thanks Wozza and the others who have highlighted this deal. I'm going to top up with 6 of the Reserve Cab and 6 of the Reserve Shiraz. I've already got a few of each that I bought with the welcome75 offer, so this is a very cost-effective way of supplementing those wines.

Can no longer order online (won't let you add things to cart). Someone yet again posting deals from here on OzB wouldn't have helped.

UPDATE: I found I could add items from item page but not search result page.

UPDATE 2: PayPal payment may be failing. Error messages when returns to Winery Lane from PayPal - PayPal has taken money, so Winery Lane is probably not aware of successful payment due to the error. No email confirmation of order (probably due to error). Might require me to chase up.

In short, unstable website right now, so be careful.

Yeah, they have been having intermittent issues with PayPal payments since the gift card offers went up.
This happened to me and a couple of my subscribers, payment taken, order not completed.
You should contact them with details of what you ordered as it seems to drop out of the cart after a while and they cannot be sure what you ordered, but can see the PayPal payment.
They are usually quite fast to respond to emails, but took over a day to actually complete the order.

They failed to think through the whole gift card thing, you could initially use a gift card to order one of the Father's Day packs which included another gift card, they've been making hurried adjustments since then.

Thanks, got an insta-reply (even before your post!) so my order looks to be under control now. Small business, so we all need to be patient. ;)

Yes, they are trying hard to offer good service, hopefully they will get more wineries on board soon.

Yes, this also happened to me with my PayPal payment. However if you go to your account details the order details should be listed. If you click on the order you can then view the gift-card details that have been assigned to the order.

My failed order didn't make it into my account order list.

Hi DB. The issue is actually with PayPal telling Winery Lane that the PayPal part of the payment was successful. When PayPal goes back to WL to say "all good, continue" WL it is failing. So, in redbigot's case, the order may have been listed as part payed (gift card) and, I assume, eventually got cancelled in the background. In my case they said they can see the PayPal payment, and I can see the order in my list, but no emails, etc. So I'll see what happens in a few days.

Yeah, I just tried to order something (used the NAB CC gateway option). When I hit the final "purchase now" button, I just got redirected back to the start of the checkout process after some "thinking" by the website. Everything was still in my cart. However there's a pending transaction on my CC, and the order is listed under "my orders". No email received confirming purchase.

Will have to see what happens.

Kinda odd that in this day and age, with so many off-the-shelf shopping cart products, these guys are having so many issues getting it right.

I have ended up with 2 vouchers showing in my account and as pending on the CC  I have not received either - I hope they will cancel one - an email has been sent.

I agree that screw cap is superior, but have we had enough time to properly assess it? I.e has anyone sampled a 30 year old Barolo under screw cap? If so - Has it had that subtle minuscule oxidising that cork gives that allows it to develop?

How much time is enough?
screwcaps | Australian Wine Companion cites an example of a 1966 Burgundy opened in 2004. Enough? :)

There's also various studies done - I'd trust to properly conducted longtitudinal studies done under proper supervision to everything else. e.g. http://vuir.vu.edu.au/180/1/wp18_2002_mortensen_marks.pdf

That's pretty dirty that someone is pinching deals from here and posting them to OzB, even if credit is given.

Used to happen a lot in the past, with people searching for VinoMofo referrals. OzB eventually changed the rules, making it near impossible to directly benefit, and most then disappeared. It's not "dirty" per se - what's public is public - and I'm sure the intentions are pure for most ... however I wish people would think about the size of the audience on OzB before posting deals about small(er) retailers, or when low stocks may be a risk.

I see quite a few references to AFF on OzB. I suspect also that some offers popping up on there get put on here. On here, we should only have loyalty to AFF.

The meritage should be ok. I'll see if the courier indicates pending delivery on Monday and go from there.

To update on this (Geoff Hardy order, including GMH Winemaker's Reserve 2016), my second carton was delivered Monday. Silly courier logistics. The winery was really good about taking on board my feedback about the 2016. One of the viticulturists gave me further information about the history of the wine, explaining that it may be bottleshock, and gave advice what to do next, offering a refund if I wasn't happy then. The general manager went ahead and gave a full refund anyway. Overall, a winery that seems proud of its wines, and offering high quality service.

The Meritage 2013 was as expected, a very well priced quaffer. I'd buy again.

FYI, Father's Day gift cards no longer on Winery Lane. They disappeared about 11pm AEST.

While I am sure they will fix up my double order in due course, if it ends up that they don't, I will have a spare to offload...

edit: Chris from Winery Lane has fixed everything up for me promptly for me this morning. :)
