Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

AnonymousCoward, you more carefully track the Langtons auctions. What are the 2010 St Henri's going for on Langtons at the moment?

To be honest, I haven't been tracking this (as I managed to snaffle some on release), but you've made me curious. Not that much stock going through Langtons, but it appears to selling around $120 + buyer's premium. Some lucky guy/gal managed to get 6x at $105, but everything else has been around the $120 mark, from what I can see in the recent results.

Edit: but if you have more money than sense, there's this dude on Ebay flogging single bottles at $250 (and you have to go pick it up from Surfers...): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2010-Penfolds-St-Henri-Shiraz-Bottle-Liquor-License-154131-/262103227568

Damn. Just spotted this. Sorry, Penegal. I would have loved to have caught up tonight. Especially as I had cracked open a nice Pinot Noir this evening, which I shared with my father-in-law, but it was lost on him as 'a nice wine'. I am out tomorrow night, but can definitely do lunch tomorrow if you are free. Just PM me and we can make arrangements ...

Thank you for the offer.

Unfortunately my lunch plans today are at the Qantas Sydney First Lounge in T1. I will drop you a PM (with a few days notice) next time I am back in Sydney.

Get $10 off when you spend $60 or more on wine in store at FIRST CHOICE

I believe this is generic so use it if you can

Thanks for that Doc - First Choice in Frankston Victoria for some reason seems to always have a 'Buy 1 get I FREE' offer on wine on Sat nights only - no idea if other stores the same - and it's usually on premium wines - whilst that store is 30mins from home I need to be close by tonight so I'll go take a look.

Not to self: Before driving 30 mins Parkdale to Frankston to pick up 1 doz RWT would be good idea to actually check Dan's opening time - not a lot to do in Frankston at 9am Sun morn!

Note to AFF: I kept checking around the traps for price 2012 RWT - Dan's $116 started to look very attractive given the stock level in multiple stores so I pulled the trigger - got it down to ~$102.34 with Wish/CR/Amex - I'm happy with that.

That's a good price at this point in time, Cruiser Elite. The cheapest I have seen it was around the $89 a bottle mark when WineMarket accidentally forgot to code their 20% promotion code off of the RWTs. With CR at 9.35% too on a particular night, it turned out to be a good deal. The only downside. We now have the responsibility and privilege of looking after our purchases for 15 odd years!

I am going to the Sydney Penfolds wine tasting night in a few weeks, and I am hoping to get a taste of what lies ahead. I am also curious to try a 93 point Grange!

It certainly does. My guess is Grant Burge Filsell. (RRP $45 but $26.90 at Dan's right now (for the 2012 according to the DM site).)

Was $20 a bot for a six pack with free delivery in the last 4 weeks. It's a lovely wine.

This might appeal to some @$99 for the six pack or $16.50 per bottle with free delivery:

  • Wynns Black Label Shiraz 2013 , 2 bottles - RRP $49.99 per bottLe.
  • Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Shiraz 2012, 2 bottles – RRP $45.00 per bottle
  • Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mourvedre 2013, 2 bottles – RRP $34.99 per bottle

Deluxe Iconic Reds (6 Bottles) - WineMarket.

Sorry... Poor quoting on my part. I was referring to this

:( that's a shame. Seemed like a good deal
Which might be exactly why it was pulled. From when I received the email it was gone within an hour. Make me wonder whether it was either a mistake (price too low), or only small quantity ever available to drive traffic to the website.

The latter doesn't make sense though... Why have people click and be disappointed?
