Diners-ropey start

I keep a spreadsheet to reconcile points one month in arrears. It never matches up but near enough is good enough. I reckon a full audit may have some unintended consequences.
Good outcome to have gotten compensation. I would probably end the conversation there as it won't progress much further. I do recall something about forfeiture of points on late payment. I can't point you to it at this time.

edit: Just used my DC card to renew my rego - pleasant surprise.

I recently did the same, i've also changed as many household bills back to paper as I can and am now paying them at my local Post Office for no additional cost :)

That sounds like a good idea to use Diners for merchants that wouldn't normally accept Diners. Worth the small surcharge for Post Office payments.

Whilst this thread is alive and as well as anything associated with Diners can be does anyone know what rate ATO payments earn at?

Ta :)

Portal won't accept DC at all. It won't accept the MC either unless transaction pre-approved and in credit. Standard MC earn

Thanks andye. I didn't even think the ATO wouldn't accept Diners - I am going senile.

Just coincidentally received my council rates and there is payment at post office option but specifically excludes credit cards at the post office. Has it worked anyway? Otherwise, which billers work at the post office for payment by credit card? I'm assuming most won't have it as an option?

I'm in Perth so don't know what it's like over East but i've gone through about 3/4 of my household bills and only one of them had a charge of you paid in person at a post office, I kept that on direct debit from the MC.

I was thinking about a post/thread though that had all the billers (minus the taxidermy people as want to be able to keep using it) that took Diners or methods of paying billers that don't, but it'll take a bit to compile and still at the early stages of using my diners cards.

First points came in over the weekend, it was good only 2 points different from my estimation

I paid another taxidermy bill this morning going through MyGov as I can't get AusKey to work now on my Mac, I can now confirm that if you try a 20k transaction it will go through fine, if you try 21k it won't work, this isn't Diners but the taxidermy payment portal. I had to split mine into 3 payments which Diners are fine about and still one on 1 authorisation of the total amount.

G'day mate, with Java 8 v111 and Safari 10 on OS X 10.11.6, in Prefs/Security/Plug-in Settings:
1. When visiting other websites: ASK
2. The gov.au sites should be to ON, however you also need to hold down Contro or Option when clicking them and UNTICK Run in Safe Mode (only appears with you hold down the Control or Option key)

Cheers, had already done all that but not got it working yet, must be something else somewhere, still the MyGov way is ok and gives a nice easily read print out at the end, got a bit of time before the next payment so will get it working before then.

Prob suggest clearing cache as well. Is the authentication.business.gov.au showing up inside Plug-in Settings/Java? If it's not, the problem is getting to it. Presume you activated Java? Make sure that is ticked.

Also, you could try renaming ~/Library/Application Support/AUSkey/keystore.xml to keystone.xml.bak and seeing if that makes a diff. Same with preferences.xml

It DOES work, I had the exact same prob that MyGOV was the only one showing. At the end it was the fact that only the bp.gov.au site was inside Java and I hadn't allowed the bottom option of when visiting other websites:ASK. This then caused the business.gov.au to turn up, which is which is the site you want. Could just be a cache thing, could clear Java cache and Safari cache.

I'm assuming the Governnent EasyPay site still works?

Yes, as that's got nothing to do with Java/AUSkeys.

Guys if you still can't get it to work there's an ATO Auskey call centre you can call on this page https://abr.gov.au/Contact-us/Contact-AUSkey/
You get straight thru to tech support, no voiceprints or other bs.
You can say you're on a Mac, they can talk you thru the options.

I was a bit suss about installing a software for AUSKey on Chrome on the Mac (not an extension, actual software!), so I thought jam that idea, I kept persisting getting Safari to work and am thankful about it. Don't wanna install no ATO software, thank you. I've already had a monster conspiracy theory feeling that they were shutting down Safari in order to run their Chrome software. But thankfully Safari still works.

My annual fee just came through. I thought I'd share my experience. Citi are getting harder to wrangle few waivers from. I called and said I was reviewing my arrangements and was thinking about cancelling due to high annual fee and acceptance issues (95% of spend on the MC).
Front line CSR said waiver above her pay grade but hinted I might have more luck with retentions if I'd 'decided' to cancel. I followed her lead and the retentions guy said a waiver wouldn't be possible then put me on hold and offered 50% reduction which I accepted. Hope this helps others with fee reductions.

For those of us who shop at DJs, I tried to use my DC at the new DJs Barangaroo and it didn't work on Friday. I'll give it a try next time I'm in a 'normal' DJs and report back. Was one of the few places where it still works.
