Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

If I miss the first connection I don't know because it effects the remaining 3 flights. The schedule is quite tight trying to do this run in one day

If its all ticked together on the one e ticket, its not your problem ;)

So walk-of-shame ex-DRW today....

CSM: Mr Dfcatch, didn't we just have you on board?

CSM to FA: Mr Dfcatch is back with us.

Upon serving meal:

CSM: Got done everything you needed to? Let me guess - signing some papers in the Qantas Club?

ME: Ummm....yeah....something like that....

CSM: Pretty common for a lot of folks for that.....chicken or beef sir?

:)

Not helped by QF824/5 seeming to have almost a permanent crew!

The status run is for Mrs HarryB and she isn't very adventurous. So I almost talked her around to the same day trip but then I told her some of the walk of shame stories.

She's staying overnight in Townsville.

to prevent a walk of shame why not just tell the crew what you are up to on the outbound flight ? that's what I do.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Can anyone tell me the JASA best status runs out of Darwin?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I have never done an AA status run before but I'm currently looking at BOS-DCA flights that are somehow going through SEA... :D My question relates to checked bags. AA.com shows the itinerary as Flight 1 BOS-DFW-SEA arriving at 10:40PM and Flight 2 SEA-DFW-DCA leaving at 11:55 PM. Can I ask the agent to check my bag through to DCA? Do check in staff look at you like you are the biggest loser on earth when you show your itinerary? Not that I really care about that, I just want to make sure I don't have to recheck my bag in SEA.

This is more a post to jog peoples memory but ex-BNE (as per the OP) at the moment you can do BNE-ROK-MKY return same day on Saturday and Sunday (maybe other days too) for $198.84 in mid Jan to mid March.

That's 40 SC and 4,000 FF points plus lounge entry for entitled pax.

Combined with the 10x FF points on vouchers and you get a lot of points and the SC for not many $$$

So 6000 pts by using the gift voucher. Not bad

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Don't forget the other 300 points if you used your QANTAS AMEX PLATINUM to buy the vouchers.

I have bought $ 1,000 worth = 12,500 points + points earned (future) on the flights = pretty good.

Mmmmmm would make very nice Christmas presents to family and staff !!

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I normally give my staff a reasonable bonus at Christmas. Because I have been listening to "Macca on AUSTRALIA all over" on the ABC this morningand his promotion of buy Australian I think that as a loyal Australia who wants to foster Australian businesses and wishes to see Qantas survive I might give my staff some Qantas vouchers as part of it ( and pay with my QFF Platinum Amex) together with a holiday voucher at one of the chains I belong to ( room booked in Company name + FF # ) to encourage them to holiday in Australia and spread the love

How altruistic am I ??

Even the staff earning points for me purely as an unintended side benefit !

I feel good now !!!

Thanks DeKa

Apologies I should have been specific. The tables originally posted my markis10 which include cabin bonus, status credits etc. I cant seem to find my way to these tables.
