xx_ how long is this xx_x going to go on.
Personally its getting boring, and they are starting to appear unprofessional and have some sort of identity crisis
Its a damn shame because the frontline staff have really stepped up, and I consider the service second to none..... If I could get some staff as dedicated and focussed as va staff i would be a happy man, however if my product was as hit and miss as the seating, meals, ife etc provided onboard their fleet, then my customers would crack the xx_xx and go elsewhere

Consistency is the key here, if you dont want ife va. Disconnect the lot, if you do want it, pull your finger out and fix the issue. Personally i couldnt care less about ife, because i either catch up on work, sleep, or do the strange old time thing and read a book, but by the comments raised on this board, many people are becoming frustrated and agitaded by the whole drawn out saga

Well it's not as if the 737s which gave been doing transcon for the past year are any different to the BSI in terms of IFE. it seems rogue aircraft have been on transcon routes for quite some time now according to posts here. Maybe they should an onboard library, fill a locker up with all the books and magazines left onboard.

Someone venturing onto AFF for the first time could be excused for thinking it's a community of pork and pancake lovers who like to watch movies once they have boarded through the priority queue after checking their email for status upgrades :). Or maybe that's for those traveling J???

Don't forget the toasted sandwiches.

From tomorrow onwards, all services to Perth will be in Business class on the new 737s.

Will be interesting to see how they go with full business class service on 737s.

Should be able to let you know how it goes... PER-BNE for me on Friday night.

Any chance you could do a trip report, or at least lots of photos? Cheers!

I'll see what I can do, finishing work here 5pm local time Friday night, flight isn't till 10:55pm lol...
Will be hitting up the lounge etc before so I will get the best of what I can on my iPhone...

Looking forward to the trip, even though its a red-eye...

Interesting you said VH-VOS has been refitted.

I've been on this aircraft several times and if I'm correct, it had Live2Air installed.

I wonder what they have done with the system, is the antenna still attached? I wonder how they are managing the removal of that system.

<rant>Seriously. If they are actively removing IFE i'm gonna get seriously p'ed off. I actually had a P/E ticket the other night on a 2hr+ BNE - MEL leg. Was the end of the work day and i was really looking forward to sitting back and chilling out and watching TV - been staring at my computer all day and the batteries were mostly gone in any case. I actually sighed with disappointment when i realised i was on a BSI plane. I took a Digiplayer but they are an absolute piece of <word redacted> both in terms of general inconvenient bulkiness (they don't fit on the tray table with your food) and the incredibly small amount of incredibly cough content that they include. </rant>

So, *please* fix this sooner rather than later! I do vote for seat back entertainment but if you're not going to that at least put the bloody audio channels back in. I will settle for wifi/ streaming entertainment but they must provide in seat power. Suddenly a vintage 80s era video projector showing repeats of 2 1/2 men seems cutting edge.

Not sure if both VOS/VOT have had the antenna taken off the aircraft, but they have had a refurb, now have business class seats installed.
I think they will be back flying within the next day or so.

I absolutely agree with you 777, on my regular OOL-SYD flights, there isn't enough time to watch anything productive with digeplayers... I agree they aren't the best, mainly because after 3 or 4 flights I would have probably already seen most of the content.

I actually like Live2Air. Why?

Well, I can usually fit 30mins of work from seatbelt sign switching off, to it switching back on for decent. But this gives me around 30mins of free time in which I can do nothing, between top of decent and me arriving at the gate.

Live 2 air gives me 30mins to watch live news, catch up on current affairs and basically relax before I head into work.

Tell me why that isn't a good solution? Sure, the equipment was out of date, and sometimes it didn't work. But I would assume that's what most business travellers want. Keeping up to date... while in the air.

Another fan of Live to air here and have been known tonschedule flights around sporting events so i can watch them at 35,000ft.
