DJs new 737s, pretty impressive.

I don't think the problem with the partial divider is so much it's transparency, but more the fact that some people seated in Y generally don't see anything wrong with moving into a J cabin and occupying the aisle, toilets or spare seats. With a more meaningful divider its not so easy for this kind of cabin drift to occur.;)

Sorry about the two posts in a row but this is a totally new topic!

According to this Virgin is indeed going to have a curtain as well as the current divider -

Cabin Divider Concepts on the Behance Network

Very interesting :D

Hi noob, interesting link, though the designs you've unearthed are quite old, and were never approved.

We are still looking at design options for the divider on some of the existing aircraft.

Well in fact if Virgin have 78 737's it will take sometime before the interiors are refitted.
Qantas in fact are ordering new 737's, and seem to have only cancelled 6.
So I don't feel that Virgin are getting that much advantage.

Virgin has 54 brand new Next Generation 737s to be delivered all with new interiors and the "sky" lighting.
The majority of the current fleet of 737-800 aircraft will be refurbished with the new interiors and seating by the end of this year according to Virgin.

(off topic but could the Qantas 767-300ER, 747-400, 737-400 fleets be refurbished with new interiors/paint? - Or are they functionally to old? - I would especially like Qantas to keep all of their 747s they have such a majestic feel about them...)

All 737 fleet interiors will be done by October, that'
s when VA will start selling business class, and by the end of they year 20 aircraft will be in the new livery. Currently 4 737's have the new interior, all new diliveries will be in the new livery and sky interior. Refer to my thread post for details: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....a-velocity/virgin-australia-livery-31322.html

Sorry Jack, not sure where you are getting that information, but you are incorrect.
Updating of interiors will take longer, at this stage we are looking at the end of the year.

Has it changed now? At the conference and several other places, John Borghetti said business class and the new economy class will be available by October (737's), so you must be behind now, ok.

Lets not get confused. My reply was to your post about ALL interiors being completed by October. This has never been communicated as a completion date. Thanks.

Oh yes, i'm just talking about 737's- Majority as some are leaving off there leases. Cheers Virgin.

Bumping up the PE price levels no doubt across the board once its all completed?

:?:.......I thought PE was to disappear altogether from domestic routes......being replaced by J. Is this not the case?

No there is only going to be 168 Economy seats and 8 Business class seats, no PE.

This is correct, business class is replacing PE as to what we have heard at this stage

- However, I do hope a PE product is also implemented within the main cabin like Virgin America's "Main Cabin Select" (row 3, and the exit row).
There are some hints that this may be the case (substantial legroom in row 3), but we will have to wait and see....I am loving this!

JB and SRB are arguing whether to add premium economy in row 3, but time will tell, my biggest wonder to come is the new IFE, i really hope they get a similar system like red, and if they want more business travelers they got to have AVOD, and get food and drinks from the touch of a button, they will get business travelers, compared to Qantas's old projector screens, and outdated ceiling ones.

Don't forget WiFi throughout the aircraft! :D
shhhhhhhh
