Domestic seat selection now up and running

FYI.

Select seats on my QP PS account (which didn't have it previously) has now appeared as of this morning.

I also now have access to this feature, booked PER-SYD-PER flights yesterday and seat selection was available immediately. Will see if I can get better seats at OLCI though

Will see if I can get better seats at OLCI though

Definitely.

On upcoming flights the furthest forward I can select is row 19 (734), but even as a PS I can't remember the last time I sat further aft than row 14 (again, 734).

I'll check again at T-80.

QP PS here, and i have access now also

Looks like the fix has been found , and deployed !
FINALLY !!
:)

Looks like I'm going to be getting used to 19A - I now have 3 flights with this seat (although I'll still check at T-80) :)

On an upcoming flight booked into D (Business) from SYD-CBR, I'm getting "Your flight is not eligible for seat selection however you can nominate aisle or window seat preference.".

Doesn't really matter in J though, especially on a 734. Maybe that's why it's unavailable.

I just checked today on one of my bookings, and also now have this (domestic) - my international bookings have never had a problem.

Row 18 was as far forward as I could select on a 738 PER-ADL and vv.

It is good that QF have fixed this as soon as they did however one would think they would not have done the roll out in the first instance with the bug so firmly entrenched.

You are trying to bring logic into the implementation! ;)

oohhh yes I have another button to play with.
PS = row 42 on a A330 domestic v1 just in front of the toilets. But at least i will have a shot at T-79 minutes 59 seconds :p

Now to work out how to get it on my BA flights:mrgreen::arrow:

Another PS QP who can select seats. I have weekly return bookings out until the end of june. Only offered approximately rows 20 to 26 on all flights >80 hours away (occassional row 19 or 18) This is on 738s (or occassional 734), this is for peak (6am ADL-SYD)) and non-peak (2045 Syd-Adl) flights. (Note rows 27 + are not available to select)

On friday's flight < 80 hours I've got upto 8C.

My anyseat business (U) awards are not eligible - for some reason.

I have discovered a major glitch in pre-allocating seats and recommend people to check allocated seats constantly for any changes to scheduled aircraft.

I had pre-allocated 25B on an international configured 767 (crew rest where 23AB and 24AB are normally) for a SYD-BNE flight in late May and the aircraft has been changed to a 734 this far out. :( Guess where my pre-allocated seat is now?

Also has anyone noticed the "D" seat is blocked on the 767's all the way down to the exit row and also the last "E" and "K" seats before the exit row are also blocked. I have also noticed the "A" and "K" seats in row 29 are blocked as well. The "D" seat is also blocked on the 734's and 738's.

It's working for me now too. Not that I'm really excited - Nothing available before row 42 for flights next week(A332), and row 39 for a flight in august(767)

Given these are full Y, i guess ticket price doesn't come into play.

QPPS.

That line of D seat blocking generally relates to "Accessible Seats".

E/F shows such unallocated seats as
handicapped-seat.gif

As per other PSs, I can now select seats. :)

Selected a few last night and it appears that I get from row 19 back on 734s and from row 20 back on 738s. And nothing beyond an aisle/window choice on Crash-8s!

I'll have to read up on the T-80 option(s) - have not bothered to do so up till now as it was all moot till I got the access.

And i ended up in 5C by a combination of seat select and OLCI

Does anyone know why award bookings don't get seat selection? The FAQ on seat selection don't seem to mention an exclusion, but i might have missed it

I have several upcoming domestic bookings in Business - 3 in D and 2 in U.

The ones that are booked on 734s are eligible for seat selection. The ones that are booked on 738s are not.

What equipment are your "U" flights booked on?

Qantas is telling me they are 738s, so that would match your experience.
Seat selection is kind of irrelevant in my case (first 3 rows on a 738. I was just interested in why it seemed to be blocked.

It certainly seems that way, although I'm now getting it on a few 734s as well (booked in D and J). It doesn't really matter though in such a small "cabin" :)

Below is the last question from the Q&A linked to by serfty in post #73 of this thread. It specifically deals with and indicates that FF award bookings (for valid customers, i.e. PS and above) should be able to select seats, so it may be a bug, or some other reason that is preventing you from doing so.

25. Can customers who book using Frequent Flyer points request their seats at the
time of booking?
If the customer is an eligible Frequent Flyer they can request their seat at
qantas.com/Manage Your Booking. The seat map displayed will reflect the seats that
are available according to their tier status.
