Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

Any circumstances they would/could create a new PNR for me?

greyyy, Pushka is correct and to the best of my knowledge all additional booking benefits i.e. DSC, x2 points, x3 points are all based on the PNR creation date. That being said all is not lost, there may be options to get DSC for your upcoming travels. Depending on the price/ booking class of your current bookings there may be no need to cancel and re-book in the next 3 days.

As an example during last years DSC offer I booked J ADL-NRT return and J ADL-BOS return, both seemed pretty expensive, from memory about $4600 and $8400. When the DSC offer was on I made a number of bookings and a few spare flex Y. In the proceeding months QF had the standard Asia sale and US sale offers. During those offers I used the spare Y bookings from the DSC promo to re-book my Japan and US trips for around $3700 and $6200 and cancelled the original booking, there was a cancellation fee but is was still better off in $$ and still got DSC

There are others with more knowledge than myself on AAF however happy to discuss off line, PM to discuss further.

Hi brains trust - can I check I have my understanding is correct

I am currently looking at flights to the USA in F class in May. There are two possible return dates - a week apart - I won't know until next Thursday which one it will be.

Is the best bet to
A) have our agent tomorrow hold bookings for both itineraries (one for each return date) as seperate bookings (I read above that as long as the PNR is generated during the eligible period that ticketing can come later) then ticket next Thursday
Or
B) have both itineraries held and ticketed by Monday and as its an F class fare and refundable get a refund on the one I don't end up needing?

What's the safer bet to get the DSC?

Have been at work the past few hours, and am new to buying voucher to earn the DSC.
I have bought a $150 QF voucher from the QF website, and plan to use it later, money is a bit tight, but I do have the $150 as a "downpayment". And have paid the $150.
Once QF sends me an email with a PNR/(more so a voucher reference), will this be all thats needed as a quasi booking/thats like a "booking" and the DSC will apply to the voucher reference?

2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

Yes poochie as long when you book as it's Qantas metal or Emirates metal QF code to NZ and within the booking date limit. That's how it worked in the past. No guarantee though.

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

Ps - not thinking about doing a date change because of this in the DSC terms
"If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply."

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

It appears as an option if you search for MEL-CHC, unfortunately the SYD-CHC flight on EK doesn't appear (would have preferred EK J over QF J)

My "transit" in CHC is 6 hours.. Arriving 2355, depart 0615. Haven't decided what to do there yet, but I see CHC has a "pod hotel" within 10minutes walk of the terminal where you can rent a sleeping pod (like those capsule hotels in Japan) for ~$39NZD for a night.

Not sure if the pod hotel is open yet though, guess it also depends on when you will be on your NZ sojourn/transit.

You'll have saved the CC fees at least AP. As posted earlier in the thread there's no guarantee of any other benefits.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

According to the email, reading deeper, flying J class will earn a DSC on the flexY basis, and not on the J basis, so my mumble above will not work, (so double flexY and not double J rates).
Now that I have the time to read the t&c at the bottom of the email, and note the (^^) as in email.
Pity, so I wont make QF PS for 2018/2019 that easily as I thought.
Thanks too Princessfiona. Will have to pay more to at least keep PS, apart from this DSC "deal".
Ok, back to reading.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Damn. Got offered the loyalty bonus of 50SC or 8000pts and took the SCs because I was 535 and needing 600 to requalify for gold. Could have easily made the 600 with this offer and took the points. Oh well.

Yea my offer crossed over from last SC Year to this year. Like many SCs zeroed off 2 days ago so I was holding the 50 to bring into this year to get a head start. Will need to see if it's doable to retain GOLD this year based on this offer and take the points. One trip to Syd in pipeline not yet booked and another floated. So I got this weekend to work something out. Ideas welcomed.

Could you please quote the relevant part?

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

I'm also wondering about this in the T&Cs:
Only one double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary.
Does this mean on a MELxSYD-CHC that you only get SC on one sector, not both?

No, it does not.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

What does it mean then?

In my view it means if you have another offer, such as a personalised 2x or 1.5x SC offer, you can't apply both to the same sector.

Ok, back to reading.

This is in neither the promotional email which I received nor the confirmation of registration email.
Nor is it in the terms and conditions on the website - which are the same as in the promotional email.
Where exactly are you reading this? Please post a screen shot or similar.

The T&C refer to status bonus FOR points earn. NOT for Status Credit.

I would expect Status Credits J & F to earn at double J & F rates.

You mean the general QFF terms and conditions not the terms and conditions of this offer?
This offer is not the status bonus. The two things are completely different.

I can't load photos on here. It's under important information at the bottom of the email I received.
Bear In mind the email goes onto say a few other things not related to the offer and this is where the status bonus is mentioned in the email but it's not related to the offer

this offer is simplly a double status credits earnt at normal rates which apply. If you buy J you earn Jx2.

No mention of this.

I suppose it will become clearer once someone books and flys.
