Has anyone had double status credits credit to their account yet?

I know it says it takes ages, but previously they've credited within a few days.

Happy to report I've used my DSC offer and booked a JASA SYD-BNE-TSV rtn for January. CSA was a bit unsure about why I'd phoned to book it (I explained the rules that they had to be phoned in after June this year...) and she went away to talk to some of her colleagues to make sure she booked it correctly. I think she was trying to work out why I wasnt doing a cheaper deal for cash or something. Anyway, it was 48kpts plus some cash , she waived the phone booking fee.
Still not entirely sure I'll get the 400SC (as I'm new to the booking-mileage-run game) that I should be getting and which I need for Platinum, but we'll see in January.. any gotchas I should be looking for on the itinerary?

Thanks
Al

Just make sure it says "Any Seat Award" on your activity statement when the points are deducted. It may be the only evidence you have. That way at least you will be able to argue with them afterwards if there is a problem.

As long as you registered for the DSC offer you should be fine.

Your booking on the website should say Any Seat Award for that booking and you should have your email saying you signed up for the DSC promotion.

By the way I still do not think all these offers are a good idea (reminds of a headless chook running around for 5 minutes before it is all over) as it cheapens status. You do not see it that way. We are not going to agree. But that is just my opinion and it is not going to change anything.

These offers are about QANTAS filling the capacity that they've dumped on the market during the quiet business periods of Dec/Jan - that's why you're seeing these deals. They're using the lure of status to keep the cash flow going.

And of course reducing balance sheet liability for all those points. I think it is a great idea for all only shame is that it cant be booked online.

But then again as some one said to me that can also be a good thing at times as once you find one now on the phone there is no more thinking too long about it. If dates are right and price is right then people are telling me they now book straight away and worry about changing later if need be.

Wouldnt cheaper airfares also keep the cash flow going?

But lets not cheapen the product. We will cheapen status instead?

Well i've given Qantas an additional $700 and bunch of points this 2 months that I hadn't intended on. I gave them about $1500 in other flights too. I don't see it as cheapening status, I see it as encouraging loyalty.

It's been a while since I had a DSC, but can someone enlighten me if the bonus SCs will count towards Loyalty bonus as well?

If there was a dislike button I surely would click it right now. Thats gotta suck yeah. Any luck they are fully flex flights?

Why not register and rin the FF dept to see if they can connect.
qantas is clearly on the front foot at the moment trying to keep people loyal and flying with them. might be a win/win ?

I'd like to know that too ... I flew on Tuesday and Wednesday (2 trips to Melb from Syd) and so far no bonus SCs in my acc. I rang up FF customer service and all they said was that it can take up to 6 weeks. great ... :(

If anyone got theirs already, can u let us know pls?

I've found the double SC's arrive in about 3 weeks.

I flew on the first day of this promo, that was now almost two weeks ago and no sign of the bonus SCs yet. I have also done a JASA (my first, and with unexpectedly good timing!) a few days ago, no bonus SC from that either. I know it says "...up to 6 weeks." but in the past when I have had my one and only prior DSC offer, which I hardly used  , the bonus points posted about a day or two later. I guess, this time, with everyone having access to the DSC offer, it is an admin nightmare.

ill be pissed if it takes longer than 2 weeks - without it my year ends 31 dec and i wont have qualified for gold.

Don't worry, I did a JASA on 31 October which was the last day of another DSC offer I received and also when my year ends. The status credits posted in my new year and I did hit Gold in time as well...
