Double Status Credits 2011

I note that from previous threads on double SCs people have had J travel booked already - and to make it qualify for the double SCs they have just cancelled the booking and re-booked.

Can anyone shed any light on whether this is advisable and also how to go about it?

I've got the NAN run booked early June and would love to hit WP (with another run) after hitting PS yesterday and the NAN was going to get me to SG.

In this case you’d want to make sure you were refunded money and didn’t get a voucher, as the voucher would use a booking ref number prior to the promotion period, and when used would reuse that number, which would then cause hassles, as it’d look like the new booking was still booked at the same time

Well I just cancelled my current SYD/Mel flight and go credits for that.

I also booked in a new SYD/Mel flight at a slightly earlier flight under a new booking number etc.

Was a bit of a pain but at least I will now get 40 SC instaed of 20 for tomorrow.

Too bad yesterdays flight (10 May) was not counted.

I might as well start booking next weeks ones as well now.

I didn't qualify, but the lovely ppl on the Qantas Twitter account are keeping me entertained and engaged even though I didn't get the love this time round.
Looks like I am going to come in just under Silver before my points reset unless I score some more work trips.

Do code-share flights with a QF flight number eg SClass JQ to BKK & SIN and J on Air Pacific to NAN with a QF also qualify for the ffer or is it only those on QF metal. The email is unclear to me.

ie ^ Recipients of this email will be eligible for double Status credits by registering for this offer via the above registration link in the main text area of this email and then by booking and travelling on any Qantas International or Domestic flight with a Qantas flight number where Status credits are normally earned between 10 May and 31 July 2011.

The NAN run would count so long as you booked under the QF flight number, so I’m guessing if you booked a JQ *Class seat under a QF number, you’d also qualify.

That BK value is also different, going on a a forwarded email from a friend who received it.

Is the BK value a random number, an ordered number, somehow connected to the FF number?

Luckily I still have my email from last year, that doesn’t work, and provides me with a different BK number that also doesn’t work when I try now, but it was: BK0000000483244838

I am a WP with 400 SC under my belt and I reset on 28 Feb 2012. I fly domestically weekly and I usually book it a week in advance so Q has no knowledge of when or if I will stop flying.

I'm curious to see if only WP's are being selected as I think I saw a few new SG's being given the invite as well in this thread. Is it a matter of consistant travel or have people who have done nothing in the last few months been targeted?

I also only book K class as a minimum (ie. 20 SC for a Mel/Syd run).

As of the info at the top of the email, I was an NB when it was sent (only qualified for PS yesterday night). I've done a fair bit of flying this year, and have already got the NAN run booked for June, NZ in July and travel syd-bne a fair bit.

I don’t think the targeting has ever been that clear cut. In the last promotion I was targeted as a Silver, with flights already booked 20 days later that were going to get me to Gold… and apart from those J flights, I’d travelled on the cheapest fares prior to that.

This year other than a NAN run in March I’ve had only a small amount of travel booked with forward bookings that’ll leave me 20SC short of re-qualifying for Gold in July.
