Double Status Credits 2011

1. I think you would need to cancel and rebook.

You will definitely need to rebook.

I got ripped off on the last offer, I hadn't even paid for the flights yet, they were just being held when the offer came. The flights that ended up being booked were on different dates and a different routing, but because the TA re-used the same booking reference, I didn't "qualify" for the double SCs as the original flights were held before the start of the promotion.

Dare I say that recent movements by the competition have also played a part in the timing of this promo?

This was predicted in another thread about possible QF reactions to DJ's relaunch.

QF just wiped off ~3,250 QF SC's end April. No QF 2X SC email. No QF love, thanks for you business or loyalty.

Hello AA EXP, unlimited F domestic US upgrades and 8 system wide J/F upgrades. Hey QF, Red Roo. You listening? Anybody home? Hello????

Having said that, if you weren't on the forum you probably wouldn't have heard about the promo either...

I've missed out before and it doesn't feel fair, but they can't offer it to everyone at once. you might get it next time.

I got the email for the first time and I am a QPNB although I have bookings that will qualify me PS very soon for the first time. My flying has also increased dramatically in the last 12 months (if my qualification year finished in July rather than January I would be closer to SG than PS). I have averaged just under PS for most of the 12 years I have been a member.

As a marketing person who likes to take these surveys out of professional interest I am going to take a guess that Qantas has taken random members from a range of levels to get a broad cross section of responses to the survey. The main point of the promotion to them being getting answers to the survey and the double SC's a way of bribing people to do it.

Some of us no longer care about SCs, or soon will no longer care about SCs ;)
I still care about SC's even though I have more than 20000 lifetime.

WP is too useful to me to ignore but these days 1200 is my annual target. I am a couple of hundred short currently but two JASA's will sort that out within a month. (Since SWMBO will earn SG in their own right on the same JASA's PG is not worth pursuing.)

I note the recent change to Air NZ scheme where excess SP's over the 1350 needed for Gold Elite re-qualification are automatically credited to your next qualification year, unless one earns 2000+ (or 650+ more) whereupon a "Year of Gold Elite" is banked should you eventually not re-qualify.;)

PSR = Lifetime SCs divided by years a member of the program to get an average membership level, it clearly exists and explains why some get status renewed without asking/explaining future plans, when you get SG renewed on 120SCs that way its clear this is how QF look at lifetime value, how they reward it is another subject all together. 12000 SCs over 14 years is averaging above the SG qual so it makes sense.

Thanks. Looks like I'll hit a mark this year. :D

I just got of the phone to Qantas as my girlfriend recevied the email and I didn't. I am 350 points off Platinum status (need to reach it by 30 Nov 2011). I was told 250,000 emails went out to members that were in danger of losing their status - I was in no danger of losing gold and therefore didn't get it. My gf is 140 off gold (but never been above silver).

interesting.. QF must be able to read into the future.. I'm 1 month into my FF year an received the email - unless they thought I wouldn't get to PG again with it being 2400SC's??

Dang... I've been a member since 1994, but only got my first status in 2006.. I had 12 years of NB!

Almost the same here - member since '95, but first PS status in 2003, SG in 2004, and WP in 2011!

Still didn't get the offer ... but I guess I've been pretty consistent at SG for the last 6 years though.

Maybe it is a sophisticated algorithm that looks at your SCs over the past few years to see whether you routinely exceed 2400 SC ;)

To add more data to the mix, a work colleague who flys with me each week and only just joined QFF 4-5 months ago had JUST hit 700 SC to get SG and also got the invite.

Regards
Daniel

I would not say that.

No offer for me; over the last 4 years I have had more than 10000 SC's "expire".

Member for 11 years. PSR of 483 and WP for the last 2 years. Just scrapped in WP first year, 3,150 SCs last year (end April), 120 so far this year. No invite.

When I was targeted last year my PSR would have been 320 (560 LT / 1.75 years), by now, my PSR is 624 (1405 LT / 2.25 years). Though my missing double SC would increase that to 660.

I got this offer this week. My history, joined 2000, WP from 2002-2010, lost it this January. LTG in 2008. so probably about 15-16K SCs since joining. Thought I may have got the offer because my status credits this membership year total just 10 in 3 1/2 months which is a big decline from my previous history (and this also reflects flying, not crediting to AA or anything like that).
