Double Status Credits 2013

Just waiting impatiently for double Scs to post. Need them to post and account to update by next Friday otherwise no F lounge :(

If nothing by late Wednesday, then try calling to see if they will manually do it before you fly. Have heard that has been done in the past.

I've had them for my past 5 flights, and all credited within 4 days of travel.

Also, just to confirm - ASA's are eligable for DSC's?

Definitely they are! Had JASA run on Tuesday and DS credited today!

Sorry, to clarify my earlier post - my DSC's took 4 days from the date of travel to credit. Not within 4 days.

I'm hoping for another offer this year but I got the one for late last year and didn't capitalise fully - only did the one SYD-BNE-TSV JASA which netted me plenty but now I'm doing a couple more JASAs on the same route (one way though) to get closer to my SG requalification. A lot of my flying has moved to VA so it's getting more difficult. But I dread the thought of going back to paying for the QP. At least I can never darken the door of NB again having made LTS last year.

I rang them today and got told to re-register for the offer and then might be a few days before the SCs post, but could take up to six weeks.

I share your frustration elbarto, I've been waiting a couple of weeks for some DSC's to post that will bump me up to Gold. Its hard to understand why it should take up to 6 weeks when the process is automated. According to the FF desk they can do it manually if the points haven't posted after 6 weeks.

I'm booking a trip to Canada in June/July soon with QF. There's currently a "deal" and it expires on April 3rd. Apparently there's a DSC on every Easter and I was wondering if the travel period would cover June/July? And if it did would I be better off securing the pricing ASAP or wait till the DSC comes around.

I'm a bit impatient about it all as I'm flying this weekend (which I pointed out to them) and would like to be able to use the F lounge. I sort of feel that it's one of those things that's easier for the operator to put in the too hard basket. And I'm not the kind of person who would usually kick up a stink and throw my toys out of the pram until I get what I want.

If it was me I would be jumping up and down by now. Hope it comes through for you in time to sample the Flounge.

DSC generally requires you to book after you've registered (or at least received the email) and they can check this by seeing when your booking was made. You need a new REF, which is why there's sometimes an issue with gift vouchers, though they are acceptable.

I know, I'm just wondering if I should secure cheap prices and forgo the DSC or wait to get the DSC and risk higher prices...

If it's essential travel I'd forego DSC, but if the goal is SC then wait. You can always book a JASA ;)

It's an open jaw ticket to catch up with my parents in Canada, SYD-DFW-YVR YYZ-JFK-SYD all on QF flight numbers so would be an extra 140SC in deep discount Y... A lot of SCs for very little or nothing and would put me into WP before my next trip overseas instead of after it... As you can see my eyes are glazed over and I'm drooling. Probably will end up booking it ASAP :(
With only 65k~ points and limited free time, there's not alot of options for me :(

That's a big amount in Y I must admit.

What's the saving likely to be? How much cheaper is it right now?

Last I checked last week was just under $2.6k, just unsure how much it'd jump when the "deal" supposedly ends on 31 March. (But then I could go via NZ for ~$2.8k and earn another 80SC, do these DSCs allow origin to be outside of Aus?)

Just a bit annoyed at QF.
Had a SC run planned before end April, to retain WP and asked QF to be included in the Double SC scheme.
Got told, Sorry You Do Not Quality.
I mean WFT?
I've been WP for 3 years straight and in the years before WP1 got very close to 3,600 SCs in one year.
But no QF love for me to keep WP.

So now I'll let them drop me to Gold and in the first few weeks of May do the SC run, blast past the necessary SCs to regain WP and probably WP1 in a few more months.
Silly people.

Not sure how you figure they're silly people. They still getting your business just the timing is going to change. Besides there are stories of them keeping people at their level for an extra year depending of unknown factors.
