Double Status Credits 2013

Just got the email. First time I've ever had the offer (member since 1998, PS 2006-2011, made WP in 2012). My membership year is 31st JANUARY.

I haven't flown yet this year, but already have 4 itineraries (45 sectors) booked and in QF system that will earn >1500 SC before year end.

No way will I fly enough to make the next mini-bonus of 2400 SC even with DSC, so probably won't use it. Shame it can't be donated to someone!

Oh and I have to thank the genie in this forum. Somewhere, someone posted that they thought there would be an offer after the 1st of April. I want to thank this person as I held off booking anymore flights when I read that. Let me know if you're that person, or if you saw that post too.

we got it as well (both QFF accounts linked to my email) my partners year ends 30 june and mine 30 october... we both have platinum for this year (my partner for flights flow has qualified and I will in May if we dont take another trip before) and still another 200 SC in bookings beyond platinum...
maybe they are targeting people who its no real benefit too so that there is no extra expense incurred?? I don't think we will aim for platinum one, its just a lot more. I activated the offer.. will see what happens.

Got the offer and mr. michaelk got it too. He snapped up a JASA BNE-KTA over a Saturday to Sunday, with status bonuses for 39K nett FF points, he will earn 760SC and retain platinum for this coming year with just our regular bookings. F lounge access through 2014!

I have been flying a VERY LONG TIME.
Have never been looked after better because I was a WP.
Ok sure the FLounge is fantastic but on this RWJ trip would only get to use it once and that will require to fly out via Syd or Mel.
As for the travel in the states, it will be F but as you probably know even if AA do have a F lounge, it is nothing to write home about.
By the time I get to the EU, will be back as WP or will use my new FB Gold Card if the SCs have not yet caught up.

Ok here are the maths:

Need 750 SC to retain WP then 1,200 to retain next year, so I need to pay for 1,950 SCs in total.
Or
I drop to Gold and pay for 1,400 SCs to regain WP for my next 2 QF years.

So QF lost the flight fares to earn 550 SCs, if I do it all in May.
Don't think one potential visit to the FLounge is worth the cost of earning an additional 550 SCs.

Sorry but it sounds like sour grapes to me.. And no I didn't get the offer either..

My partner and myself received this offer as well. First time we've every received a double status credit offer. Partner is currently Gold and I'm Platinum. Partners year ended 31st March and myself 30 Nov.

We've got a booking to LHR next month in F on QF. I interpret the meaning of "bookings made from 2nd April" in the offer meaning that current bookings do not apply. If I make changes to my current booking, i.e. change date or route etc, does anyone know if that counts as a new booking and DSC's will be earned? I may aim for P1.

I got a DSC email today for new bookings made and flown up to June 30 this afternoon. This is great but I'm a bit confused because my membership year ends July 31 so the dates are a bit off. Anyone else get this offer which doesn't line up with their member year?

I have 485 left to hit gold, so would need a run from Sydney which gives at least 245 SCs. I'm seriously thinking of doing it and popping my status run cherry so I can get international lounge access on one world later in the year for a booked trip.

Got the e-mail and my status year only started on March 1st!

No love for me (2,510 SC's with year ending May 31st), Shrek received it (480 SC's year ending July 31st).
I'm pretty glad really as I won't have to panic about scaling the lofty heights to P1, it can remain but a pipe dream :mrgreen:

Lucky me....I got the offer for the second time in two years...and for the same time period. My year ends April 30 and have already achieved Platinum requalification so this offer just sets me up for my next year. Timing couldn't be better for me!

Bit annoyed as I booked a JASA PER -KAL points plus pay a few weeks ago but now can't use it. Cancelling just gives a voucher for $426, rebooking using cash would cost $1100, and not getting the points refunded means I don't have enough points to rebook that way.
Worth calling and asking to note to add the double? Missing out on 80 extra SC is going to suck

Cancelling online can have issues. Maybe call up and ask you're thinking of cancelling.. are there any penalties?

I'm booking a trip to Canada in June/July soon with QF. There's currently a "deal" and it expires on April 3rd. Apparently there's a DSC on every Easter and I was wondering if the travel period would cover June/July? And if it did would I be better off securing the pricing ASAP or wait till the DSC comes around.

I didn't. Booked it on a day where April has a fool. Turns out I didn't get a DSC anyway, nor did any of my parents So no loss really. And if I did wait flights were still the same price the day after on the last day of the sale. Either way it would've worked out fine, well more or less fine.

Mrscove received her first ever DSC and two months will work out of the three month offer based on her anniversary being May 1st. Darwin,Townsville and Alice Springs are all places she has never been to so I think we might put her up for exploring Australia on status runs. Her bookings to Sydney and Learmonth miss the DSC. I think i had better tag along to see if she can get past Platinum in those 2 months using JASAs.

Do xASAs earn DSCs? The e-mail says:

For all new bookings made from 2 April 2013 for travel until 30 June 2013, we're offering double Status credits[SUP]#[/SUP] on eligible Qantas flights* - that's flights with a QF flight number on your ticket - where Status credits are normally earned.

Which seems a pretty clear 'yes'. Anyone know for sure?
