Double Status Credits are back

Fortunately for me, the offer came in time for me to take advantage of it. Have to travel to the UK later this month for professional reasons, so will get 880 SCs: flying Y+ to Singapore, then J to LHR - and the same on return - and yes, all on QAN flights! :-)

OK. Didn't get triple points this time for my return flight, just the double. So, the triple the first time round must have been a glitch in the system. A nice small 10 SCs bonus. :)

No triple SCs for me, but Friday was a productive day SC wise, SG requal completed, now for WP via NAN:

Did my first ever 'on purpose' status credit run to take advantage of the double status credits offer. I flew SYD-CBR-SYD in J for $690, which equals 160 status credits including bonus. used surprise mothers day visit as my excuse :p

Is that a good price for that amount of status credits?

Any better routes for fly in/out on the same day (or overnight)? Or is the Canberra one the only easy one out there from Sydney?

Iv'e really only got two weekends free in June to make any use of this offer so any tips would be appreciated aiming to get to WP, not hit requal on SG yet, but will after next week.

For around $750 you can do SYD-BNE-MEL-SYD, with BNE-MEL-SYD as part of the J NAN special (your stopover is SYD) that will net 220 SCs and leave you with another 80 SCs already paid for in terms of the SYD-NAN leg to be used within a year (which I would make part of the next year earning).

Or you can do the same but use an ASA J SYD-BNE to make it all J, cost is 20K in points but nets 280SCs (after double) for three flights that are doable completely in Business hours, as per my post above ;)

OK, so my membership year just finished end of April. I was lucky enough to get comped WP for another year to April 2011 despite only having 740 SCs.

Now check out my next trip in early June:

BNE-SIN QF J-class
SIN-LHR QF J-class
LHR-ZUR QF (operated by BA) J-class
ZUR-LHR BA J-class
LHR-SIN QF J-class
SIN-BNE QF J-class

I make that a total of 1320 SCs with the double status credits offer. WP until April 2012 and nicely on my way to LT Gold! Thank you Qantas!

Welcome to AFF, mcnul73

Nice one :!: , yes you'll make Plat in a canter.

Some of us have to do it the hard way :lol:

Both SCs and bonus SCs posted within 24hrs of a SYD-MEL! Nice

Dropped them an e-mail and got a call barely a few hours later (very impressive). Apparently they can take up to two weeks.

Cheers,
- Febs.

3 weeks later, no show. Logged another e-mail and they called me again. They confirmed I'm registered for the promotion and took the flights in the required period (and the flights were definitely booked in the required period), but they said they can't do anything until after the promotion period ends. Good thing I'm not relying on them to requalify in the next month or two.

Cheers,
- Febs.

All mine posted within 72 hours - one multi-leg journey - part of it posted within 24 hours, the rest posted a couple of days later.

I suspect the double SC job runs every couple of days or something...

How do you get triple points?

SC's posted to my account in 3 days.

With a week to go, I've already made platinum, but had no opportunity to fly the extra, get the doubles and get partner gold. First time in quite a few years!

Has anyone who didnt get the "official" email asking them to join, but rather used the URL to join been given the double points or spoken with QF and they have credited the points?

Cheers

I didn't get the official email, but tried the url (replaced with my details) within 24 hours of it being posted online.

10+ flights later that meet the qualificaiton criteria (booked after xx date in April and QF flight#) and no bonus SC.

We lucked out!

I gathered as much, but did have to ask as it would mean i could make WP earlier than i was planning and then be able to get into F Lounge at Sydney next week..

Nope. If I got the double SCs, I'd be on 1500 SCs instead of 925 and would be WP instead of SG :)

I'm not fussed anyway - I didn't qualify so wasn't going to pursue it. My current bookings having me hitting that magical 1400 SC mark on July 21, and there's a good chance I'll book some more flights before then and hit it earlier :)

To those that did get it - hope you're enjoying it :)

I hear you... my plans would significantly change if there was double SC involved.
