Really? Seems like a strange thing to randomise. They may as well call it a lottery.

I didn't say I agreed with the principle. I hate loterries with a passion.

In my opinion these types of promotions should include everyone.

With the following wording in the email... I am surprised NB's & PS are being targeted.

I only need 60SC's to attain WP whereas my partner requires 430 so maybe they are targeting members who are close to WP??

Still I'd love the extra towards LTS/LTG.

I am 20 SCs away (will get there Sunday night) from attaining Platinum for the 4th year in a row. Can't get much closer than that.

Still not being targeted for these promotions. Luckily I should attain Platinum very early in the next membership year so that I do not rely on silly random promotions....

Received the email. This double status credit offer is how I achieved Platinum in the first place.

I've got some trips booked in the eligible period, including a J flight to New York, but it doesn't sound like I'll get the double points. Hopefully some domestic trips will eventuate to take advantage of the offer. I'll keep an eye out (as we all will, I'm sure) to see if flights already booked score double SCs.

Nope - definitely signed up. The lame Easter no-pology email got through just fine, but not this.

I'm the same as JohnK, will requalify for SG within the month (well timed SC run), and could make WP for the first time on my own a few months later, but this would have really helped - and any acceleration in the process would have been nice too.

Between this and Apple and Netspace's shenanigans, having a bit of a tough time with lady luck right now - thankfully I've still got my health!

Timing couldn't be better!

I already have flights booked for May which will see me requal by 31May (end of my year as a PS.)

1st June I'm off on a LONE4 with a couple of YUP runs in the US.

This will save me a few $$$$$

Hmmm, I got it too - my anniversary is the end of March, so I have a grand total of zero SC's so far this membership year ... though I requalified as WP till the end of March 2011 sometime before Christmas.

I can only see in LW's email a generic definition of Status Credits, with various qualifying statements about the offer (eg: Eligible flights for this double Status credits offer are flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number where Status credits are normally earned.)

I can't see how this could be misinterpreted to mean "all OW" flights or similar.

It is a pity that we aren't all targetted, although if everyone was then it would devalue status (although uniformly!)

from what I understand this part of the wording is the same as last year and nobody else has had an issue.

I looked at my wife's settings & subscriptions and they are exactly the same as mine.

Our main difference is that I am five months into my requal year (at 510 SC's) and my wife's year finishes on 30th April so she is about to reset to zero.
