You should edit that link - it contains your frequent flyer number and name.

Having said that, I modified your link to contain my details and got the following:

If it works, then I owe you a drink :D

Yep - me too, I'll buy you a drink anyway ;)

I clicked on your link with the xx_xx_XX and it said that number xx_xx_X was registered. I then substituted xx_xx_X with my number and got a message that it was already registered. I am just about to book a DONE4 (ticketing it shortly) so it will be interesting to see what shows up in terms of SCs.

I also changed a ticket (change of fare basis as well) on 13/4 So I am intrigued to see how many SCs show up on those flights...

I have also taken a screenshot of the confirmation in case there are any "disputes"...

On my DONE4 I have only two QF flights SYD-HKG and LAX-SYD in J and that wouldn't be a bad set of flights to get double SCs :)

I get: "Frequent Flyer number xx_xx_x has already been registered to earn double Status credits. " - yes I did -around a year ago when I received a similar offer.

bossreggiem, I have re-edited your URL to give the gist.

Note that this promotion is valid:

Eligible flights for this double Status credits offer are flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number where Status credits are normally earned

So make sure you book those QF codeshares on Air Pacific, JL, LAN etc.

I've fixed the URL:

http://web.qantas.net.au/FF/EDM/Winback/index.asp?fname=<Christian Name>&ff=<QFF Number>

I tried to edit the link with my name & FF# and got the '...already registered' message, too.

Then I tried putting in a random, rubbish name and a completely random FF#, and got the same message!

Someone want to dissect this with their IT skills? For what I can't tell, I don't know if the page actually 'sends' QF any messages, or it's just a splash page with replaceable parameters.

Try clearing your cache/cookies on your browser. I did that and I got a "success" page.

Replace xx_xx_X With "your Christian name in CAPS" followed by "&aff=xx_xx_x" Where xx_xx is your QFF number. EXCLUDE " marks.

Good Luck

Well, it seemed to "work". It says I have now been registered.

Acid test is will it work? I have a flight coming up next week, but it was booked a while back, so under strict technicalities it doesn't fall within the rules, and I should receive standard credit for it.

Should I call QF and clear things up with the rules of the promo? Or is that going to result in my rear end being kicked?

Now the question is - does cancelling a booking (ie: into a voucher) and then back into a booking count as a new booking under the rules.

If yes - then there's an extra 320 SCs for me, because I've just done precisely that to a bunch of flights :D

I think the extra cost is worth it:

(and yes, they're actually taking my credit card details for that 1c).

Hmm - not sure I want to delete all cookies and redo this...

You could use your other browser that you don't mind deleting all cookies, or install some freak browser (*cough* Safari *cough*) with a 'clean' profile to do this.

(and yes, they're actually taking my credit card details for that 1c).

One thing you have to note is that a voucher will be tracked according to the original date of booking (because they need to track one year after your original date, for that's when the voucher expires).

When you use the voucher, doesn't the "voucher" booking get "updated" with the new flight details, but that doesn't change the booking date (it remains as the original one)? So it still doesn't fall under the new rules?

You could book a fare right now and still cancel the old one. You would then use your old fare's "voucher" for a flight you might be taking after the promotional period.

Well I cleared my cache/cookies and I have been able to register twice even though I was already registered according to the previous attempt. I can sense a serious bug on that webpage. Something is not quite right and no amount of screeshots is going to prove that I was targeted for a promotion I clearly was not.

Well, it seemed to "work". It says I have now been registered.
Let's hope so. Otherwise I think we are asking for trouble again and I think QF is not going to be a pushover like Amex. I would not want my QFF membership suspended or cancelled for some silly double SCs.

I have a flight coming up tomorrow.

I have a "book now pay later" ticket that is due to be paid today for travelling on Sunday. Should I cancelled it and book from scratch again?

Thanks that worked for me!

I'm only 30SC's short of WP+SG - i'm flying AKL-SYD today - with the double credits it should re-qualify me.

Hope this works - i may be able to get to LTS by end of June.

Didnt even think about that - I don't use the corporately installed IE7 at all normally - just ,y mobile Firefox ;)

You'll have to tell us then in 6 weeks after tomorrow. (read the fine print)
Did not read the fine print. So any tests are close to useless as you would need to wait until end of May / beginning of June to find out if you are eligible for the double SCs. Not prepared to risk any money to find out. Will wait and see what others post....

So was I. Now, I'll just have to see if I can convince DH to take another trip in that time period. Somewhere cool for a long weekend might get me to Gold ... and make up for the 40SC I'll lose if I can change to direct flights on our trip to the US in two weeks. Or maybe I won't be able to fudge my way into the promo ...

Thank you! :)
