Read the word "Within". It could be 1 day, 1 week or 6 weeks.

A relative of mine who is silver got this offer and it exclaims that if he flies enough not only will he retain silver but may even get to gold.

Much to my disappointment he is not the status run flyer type so may not make use of the offer!

I’d hope I get double, but not too fussed, I’ll attain PS on my own flying this year without trying and am happy with that. Id’ be very surprised if I actually got SG instead

That link is just a splash / confirmation link for people who have actually clicked a button/link to accept the targeted promotion.

Changing this link to include your name and your FF number will NOT enrol you in this promotion all that page does is display a success message regardless of the validity of the name or FF number. And it sets a cookie so that when you retry it can display the "already registered" bit (to check delete all cookies & temp files and try again)

I deleted cookies and it still said i was already registered. I bet i could go to another machine and i would get the same message.

try deleting again... & I have tried on 3 different machines and always successfully register the first time.

which is what that page is doing... reading the name & ff from the url and posting the success message and creates a cookie for future reference.

Maybe I am targetted for the offer then? But the fact that i was already logged on to QFF when I clicked the link and it registered my FF number suggests to me it isn't just a cookie.

This is how I view it as well. Qantas are savvy with promotions and are quite good at ensuring only targetted members are either allowed to enrol, or when the IT Sweep comes through and credits the bonus that only targeted members get credited.

Me too. Said it was tageted to help get partner gold (I have requalified plat) and timing is perfect for my upcoming travel and will satisfy the SC needed!
