Got the email (surprisingly after QF comped me SG this year).

My SC's way down this year due budget restrictions but starting to look better now, with the Deep North beckoning.

Spoke to QFF

Apparently people are randomly selected by the system based on some criteria which they don't know (highly doubt that) and they cannot manually add people to the promotion (again I am very doubtful that they would have no manual input)

This goes beside 'Sorry, we can't allocate you any other seats, the cabin is full' in the pool room of airline wilful obfuscation.

Having said that, I was glad that this thread was quietly dying - so that anat0l's teeth can stopped gnashing, and those of us who unluckily missed out can can take his advice and slowly try to get over it (without constantly being reminded about what we're missing!). :p

I am trying to convince a friend who did get it to do an anyseat crazy flight in J just for the sake of it.

I am trying to convince myself that I should do BNE/SYD/ADL/BNE and BNE/MEL/BNE day trips next week, rather than BNE/MEL/ADL/BNE two day trip with overnight in ADL.

Positives of double SC's, being home each night for wife & kids and slightly cheaper overall (when taking into account flights, accom, transfers, parking) versus negatives 5am starts.....

Thankfully, I think double SC's will win :D:shock:

From where I'm sitting I don't think we need to take bets as to what the outcome will be.

Some of us are sharing the same hotel in Melbourne next week so we will possibly/probably hear about it from him again.

Spoke to IainF in PER this afternoon (on his way back to BNE on the late PM flight). Checked to see whether he was eligible, alas he wasn't. A pity because he has had a change in role, which may mean DCIR22's every 2nd month - he would have put the first one (in May) to QF (to get Plat back) then the rest back to AA (to possibly get ExPlat)

Ah, I'll miss you all, I'm likely to be there Wednesday or Thursday night. I might have better luck catching up with IainF

Mrs Moo called me about an hour ago saying that I had received a letter from Qantas which she opened saying that I was eligible, so I just registered

Reading through the posts it seems totally random to me. I'm WP, have more SC's at this point than in last earning year, so no doubt I'll reach WP again based on current travel habits.

It's not really going to make me want to fly more often in the next 2 months as I already do 3 ret legs per week. Might make me want to do an alternate route but then again why waste my time and effort?

I wish I could "gift" this offer to someone more needy such as a gold member who really needs to do a SC run just to retain gold.

Turns out my AnySeat award ticket for Sunday was booked just within the promotional window, and the double SCs credited this morning:

Code:
20 APR 10 DOUBLE STATUS CREDITS PROMOTION 20APR10	-	-	- 0 40
18 APR 10 QF 562 BUSINESS 18APR10 CANBERRA/SYDNEY (ANY SEAT AWARD FLIGHT) BOOKING REF xx_xx_ 148 37 148 1,250 40

Not a bad SC run in the end - 16,000 points and $50 spent to earn 1,250 points and 80 SC.
