Whoa... you're all an active crowd today. I'm currently getting swamped at a rate of 1 PM every 3-4 minutes so please excuse me if I take a little while to reply. The AFF time limit for sending PMs is also not helpful... !

If you've paid a deposit on a booking it's almost certain the booking has been created, in which case no you would not be eligible for this promo.

However if you can convince your TA to recreate your booking in a new PNR and honour the price (as discussed above) then that would work.
Thanks and as we are speaking,my travel agent is creating a new PNR and at the same price.
Guess I got a great agent.First time we have booked with a TA for a long time.Good timing!Usually book thru QF website.
Also interesting,if I have read it right the double credits only applies to one QF flight in an itinerary.Correct?

Yep, thats how it works. You can only use one voucher per ticket.

Do this by logging in and redeeming through " manage my booking", select your flights, then pay the difference. Eg. You bought a $50 voucher in this promo period, proposed itinerary is say $800, pay the $750 difference. The PNR is for the whole itinerary and DSC will be applied to all eligible flights on it. Most of the time I received the DSC within 1-2 days after the sector was flown.
Having never used vouchers before, can anyone clarifying for (gift) vouchers . . . we're intending to travel overseas later this year as an extended family group of 6 (all 6 are QFF members). After registering, should voucher(s) be purchased as (i) a single voucher with 6 names at say $50, or (ii) purchase 6 vouchers at say $50 each, each voucher in each member's name which would generate 6 identical bookings with possible problems with seating together. Can vouchers be purchased as 'no-name' vouchers or must they be associated with someone's name to get the DSC?

Hmm with people talking about Status Bonuses on the fine print, isn’t that just the bonus points you earn travelling as a ranking member on QF? I.E the 50% points bonus you earn as Silver etc. That has nothing to do with the DSC offer anyways, I guess it doesn’t wanna give you the points bonus on top of the double you’re getting.

With that being said, anyone wanna give me a heads up on some good flights to book? I’ve got no problem getting WP this year since I’ve got flights to HKG/LHR and back throughout the year, but I wanna get my friend through the door too!

Bought some vouchers today (2 x $100). Won't be used for some months so will be interested if they work for the DSC promo!

So just to be clear, am I correct that you used each of those vouchers for separate bookings and paid the balance on a credit card (as obviously each booking would have cost more than $50)? I'm guessing it doesn't matter how much the total cost is? E.g. could you buy a $50 voucher now, and then use it towards an $8k international J trip in a couple of months, and still qualify for DSCs??

Can a voucher be used through business rewards and gain the disc? Similar question, can a voucher be used in conjunction with a future sale fare? Also, can a voucher be used with a GCC booking (eg to buy a comfort seat)?

If you buy a voucher for 6 people it can only be redeemed for 6 people. You can't change the number of passengers but you can specify the names when redeeming the voucher.

If you purchase separate vouchers then you have more flexibility but more challenges sitting together as you'll be on separate bookings.

Vouchers have their own portal for redeeming them. When redeeming a voucher you can only purchase fares that are available at the time of redemption (e.g. if buy a voucher now and redeem on Aug 1 you can only purchase fares available at that moment on Aug 1). I don't think you can use them to book fares at the business reward discount. I always check what the fares are through the normal booking process to make sure I'm getting a decent price.

I don't know about using them with comfort seats. I doubt it, but if you can it would require calling QF to redeem one would think.

T&Cs say:

Only one Double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary.

It will apply to every flight in the itinerary that is eligible for DSC.

Yes ... The PNR creation date is important; Ticketing date is not.

Indeed. I made a booking during a previous double status credit promo a few years ago, then subsequently had to change the date of some of the flights. Still got the DSCs.

If you were to change the PNR though (i.e. cancel and rebook, generating a new PNR outside the promo period) then you would not get them.

Thanks, I can't find the offer details from last year, but noticed this:

If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply.

no, it will apply to ALL QF operated flights (with a QF flight number) on them.

This condition has been on past promos too. In the past provided the PNR doesn't change and the new flights fall within the required period you'd still get DSCs. YMMV.

This is basically a FAQ :)

by "change" they mean any change that results in reissue (recreation of a PNR) such as change in cities or whatot.

a date change will not do this, and thus the DSC will still apply (as long as new flight date is between Feb 12, 2018 and Jan 20, 2019)

IIRC vouchers are a bit more restrictive in use - eg, can't do multi-city bookings from vouchers (at least not online).

Vouchers have their own portal for redeeming them.

I've never tried to redeem a voucher, but I do have one sitting in my account that was for a cancelled fare. To use it, I assumed I'd just be able to apply it during the booking process. Is this not the case?

That's why contacting madrooster or your friendly TA is handy - gets around that little problem of using vouchers, expending the funds upfront and no issue with multi-city bookings ;)

But you can book the same indirect options you can see when booking a trip e.g. if booking MEL-CNS you can see MEL-BNE-CNS options.

On qantas.com I go to Book > Gift Vouchers > Redeem. I don't think I've ever had a credit voucher before so not sure if it's done the same way for those.

You'll be able to make a booking with it, but it won't apply to the DSC offer, as the PNR was created prior to the offer date.

Yep, but was thinking more of international trips with stopovers. For these you have to book in the period to get DSCs. Can't get it later via a voucher.
