I was waiting for this email, as I'm at the moment on 80 SC and would like to requalify in November 2013. Would welcome your assistance in a good JASA from SYD. Thanks

This has probably been asked before, but if I cancel a booking, get a credit voucher, then re-book a similar flight using the voucher (in part), within the period, will I qualify for double SCs? I got the offer today.

Thank you.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, you will get the same voucher reference number as your cancelled booking and a new booking will use this and the original date it was bought.
So you will not get the DSC, though I do recall a similar thread saying you need to ring them and they make note of the new booking / date.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can assist further, as I have around 10 flights already booked that I would be keen on rebooking to take advantage of the DSC.

EDIT: I thought I got it wrong, it is gift vouchers that can cause a hick up if purchased before the offer date.

The short answer is no as the voucher contains the original booking date which would be outside the promotion period.

Are you able to cancel the booking and use the credit voucher outside of the promotion period and make a new booking for the flights within the promotion period?

Thanks for the info JohnK and mrfreeze. Have re-done one booking already as a stand-alone, but did re-book a second leg of a previously multi-city journey using the voucher. So I assume that was a waste. I will call tomorrow and see if that can be regarded as a new booking, as I did change class. Otherwise, I wll have made a slightly costly error!

. "Only one Status credit offer can be used per each individual qualifying segment of your itinerary".

Does this mean that if I am planning a JASA status run, I will only get the first leg doubled?

No. It means you can't have a 'quadruple' status credit offer. Basically, like at Myer or David Jones: 'not to be used in conjunction with any other offer'.

Ceteris paribus, your JASA will earn double across the board.

I do not believe there is any point in discussing it now. You would need to wait until you have taken the flights and then take the matter up with them.

With last year's double SCs promotion a few of us had purchased gift vouchers at Christmas and then used them to purchase flights during the promotion period. We were able to argue that even though the booking was created at Christmas the flights were actually booked during the promotion period.

I would not want to be trying to argue the same thing about flights booked before the promotion and then cancelled and rebooked using the same voucher.

Good luck though.

My first status run is booked as a result of getting my first x2 SC offer. I've always been a Y flying bronze, but a new job got me into silver last year. I am going PER-BNE-CNS-MEL-PER in J for a lazy 600SC. This will shoot me into gold for the first time. I've got a couple of china and Taiwan trips later in the year and a honeymoon to Europe so the mrs will be happy with the lounge access. The status run also allows me to inspect my rental property that I have had for 5 years and never seen.

1 happy camper. Also I have never been in J, but my cherry will be popped on a VA to the footy in Melbourne on Anzac Day.

Thanks RedRoo at least that confirms that it is not that my email is lost or delayed - just missed out this time.

I received this DSC offer late yesterday afternoon, also for bookings between now and 30 JUN. My membership year ends 30 SEP and I already requalified for WP a couple of months ago, but am a fair way short of the next plateau.

Sadly, as with many here I suspect, most of my international travel for the next few months has already been booked and paid for in response to previous sales, so while I can't complain about $$ saved, I will probably only use the DSC offer for a couple of domestic hops. :(

Reading through the speculation above I don't believe there is much logic / rhyme or reason to who gets / does not get the offer. This one has a three month window and does seem quite widespread so perhaps attempting to boost revenue for the next quarter.

Good luck to all.

Big email barrage yesterday and today from Qantas, Virgin, Hilton, SPG etc. all offering me something :)

Pity they could not make these offers before I had book majority of April / May and June travel + Accommodation

You can try to register here. Only eligible members will be able to register.

That's interesting. I got the e-mail, hit the 'register' button in it and got a generic 'registration successful' web page back. I tthought it was strange that no other 'confirmation' was sent to me, so I took a shot and kept that as 'evidence' should that be necessary.

I clicked on the 'register' link supplied by Red Roo to see if it would say "You have already registered". It took me to my QFF log-on and was allowed to (re-) register and this time I got a web page acknowledgment including my e-mail and saying I will get an e-mail confirmation. Hasn't arrived yet, but I'm fine with that.

Strange that the first attempt, off the e-mail, there was no e-mail or otherwise personal confirmation
