Double status credits email - window missed

That's interesting. I got the e-mail, hit the 'register' button in it and got a generic 'registration successful' web page back. I tthought it was strange that no other 'confirmation' was sent to me, so I took a shot and kept that as 'evidence' should that be necessary.

I clicked on the 'register' link supplied by Red Roo to see if it would say "You have already registered". It took me to my QFF log-on and was allowed to (re-) register and this time I got a web page acknowledgment including my e-mail and saying I will get an e-mail confirmation. Hasn't arrived yet, but I'm fine with that.

Strange that the first attempt, off the e-mail, there was no e-mail or otherwise personal confirmation

I just received the bloody email, 3 days after my renewal date and had 1000 S/C's up YTD. There goes WP ........

I received my DSC offer at 4:42pm yesterday. Was extremely timely as my anniversary date is 31 May, and I am 210 SC short of my requal. I don't know if they log your browsing activity when you are signed into the QF website, but this offer could not have been better timed. I had been perusing the QF website for a few days, looking for cheap JASAs to take me over the line, and was just thinking yesterday morning that I desperately needed a DSC offer to re-qualify SG. I only have one, maybe two, flight opportunities before 31 May due to a pre-booked holiday and site work (both OS, both non-QF ).

For the last three anniversaries (incl. this one), I have received a DSC offer. Only for SG, as I have yet to achieve WP status, and I can't see it happening in the near future. I cannot even imagine getting three offers in half a year, a lamickeyc747!! Some people have all the luck. Or is it luck?

I am not sure why but it could be the fact I live on the Gold Coast and for 5 plus years I refused to fly JQ so at the start of September 2012 I was a NB, Qantas started flying back to OOL and they compted me Gold prior to Gold I got the first Double SC as the return to OOL which was only for flights leaving OOL, then a month later got the second offer which was for all flights and I managed to get WP prior to Christmas. Have just done a J MEL SIN MEL and I am sitting at 2000SC. As you are all aware I got the 3rd double SC offer but it targeted me reaching WP1. It may not make sense and may anger people as I was a dedicated VA flyer for all those years and I am WP with them as well but I still had to earn 1400 SC to get WP with QF

I got DSC 2 April - 31 June. My year ends 31st May so will do some JASA to get a jump on next year.

Well, at least you got an extra day over the rest of us...

Well, it doesn't anger me. I think we have decided there is no discernible rhyme or reason to the DSC promos anyway - so if you get it, then use it! I know I will be

Got the offer too, travel to make use of it has already been booked and I shall be WP again mid-year now. Considering taking it further, to PG, but P1 is so far away I'm not sure that new white card is worth striving for...

interesting thing is that all travel for april+may is already booked/paid.

Looks like ill cancel some flights and convert into vouchers, then book new flights, Sigh.

Remember, you can't use the vouchers created from cancelling towards DSC as the vouchers will keep the PNR, which identifies the booking as having been made before the promotion. You can save the vouchers for other dates, but you need to make a completely new booking. Exception is if you have a gift voucher, from say Christmas though it can still be a hassle to get the DSC

I had the same issue. When I clicked on the register button, it just went to a generic web page saying registration successful. I then booked the JASA. That was last night. I just clicked on Red Roos link and it opened the qantas app login page. I logged in and nothing. I then clicked on Red Roos link again and it went to an acceptance page with my email address already loaded and then allowed me to register. I am worried that it didn't register properly last night and I won't get 2 x SC on my JASA. I rang Qantas today and a very helpful and pleasant female tool all my details and said that communications would contact me later in the week.

I wouldn't worry too much. Every time I've had a DSC, I've never received confirmation of registration - but those sweet DSCs have always come through .

That's good to hear. The status thing is a good marketing ploy. I always fly one world as a result and go out if my way to rack up status points.

I got the email as I logged onto the wifi in Dubai on my way to London.

Overseas for the whole 3 month period that the Double SC offer is on.

What a waste!

I still have a voucher from QF for the grounding of the fleet. Will i earn double SC if I book now? My DSC offer ends 30 June.

If it's a gift voucher and you make a completely new booking you should be fine, but might need to chase them. If the voucher is from a previous booking, ie. a flight was cancelled, that wont cut it, AFAIK.

Just spoke to QFF re this and the gent's understanding was that you were never meant to get a confirmation email. The generic message was all you were meant to get.

I guess just check a few days after your first flight, the extra SC's should be on by then. The registration doesn't have to occur before the booking. Both have to occur between 02APR13 and 30JUN13. (All my understanding from my email and the chat with QFF 5 min ago).
